Teens TTC

I have been with my boyfriend (24) for 2 years now and we have had our own flat for over a year, looking to move into a house very soon. I have only told a few friends and my sister (16) about us trying for a baby and all of them have reacted really well, are very happy for us and cant wait for me to get pregnant.

I was wondering how many teens there are here trying for a baby, or not trying, not preventing? I thought it was quite uncommon for teens to TTC, but a girl I work with is a month older than me and TTC too, we are both 19. If you are TTC and a teen how old are you and what is your situation (living arrangements, partner etc) ?

xx

Hi honey
You already know me from WTT!Obviously Im not TTC now,nor am I actually a teen anymore!
But we were TTC when I was 18 (OH was 21-22 when Ophelia was born) and we were in pretty much the same situation you're in.We had been living together, both had good stable jobs.I still have a job to go back to now when I decide to return to work.Umm...what else?We mostly had the support of our families (my dad and stepmum & OH's parents). I'd already travelled when I was 16 and pretty much seen all of the world I wanted to see.
You will come across a lot of people who will criticise your decision but I wouldn't change it for the world and I'm now preggo with no.2!
Good luck with your TTC journey, hope to see you in BFP announcements soon.(Oh also I think theres a younger TTC group in the TTC section too,I dont know if you know about that)

xxx

Well, I am 20, but have been TTC since I was 18 with my now husband (22). We have been together for 5 years and are NTNP at the moment, and are Mommy and Daddy to 4 angels as well...

Even though you are young, you seem mature, your boyfriend is older and you have your own place! I don't think there is anything wrong with you trying for a baby! After all it is your decision, and as long as you feel you could cope and give the baby all the love in the world, then there's no reason you shouldn't try! I think its OK to be a pregnant teen if you are 18-19, because you are an adult! I just don't understand why there are 14 year olds out there trying to have babys, its ridiculous and immature in my opinion! xx

I think at your age its is all dependant on the maturity, and financial stability to be honest when TTC. I find it hard personally to call a 19yr old a teen, its that funny inbetween age isnt it!?!?!

However you sure are putting some deep thoughts into it by doing your research, and if you and OH are comfortable and both 100% ready, then all I can say is er....

What I will say though, was that me and my OH have the same age gap as you, and I was your age when we hit our two year mark - I can honestly say that looking back my relationship would never have been ready for that, we still needed that time to learn about each other and have holidays just the two of us! This didnt hit me hard enough until a few weeks ago when I realised mine and OH's drunken holildays abroad were officially over!!!

Just a note that BnB doesn't support teens actively trying to conceive.

I was 19 when me and my hubby started TTC but it was after we got married and got our house. I agree that 19 is that inbetween age and it does come down to maturity. Some of my friends that are older than me are so immature its unreal

Im currently 19. 20 near end of the year.
Me & OH talked about having another baby at end of this year for a summer baby. I was in process of trying different things, had implant out, went on pill.. didnt work out so stopped for a month, OH knew there was every chance i could fall pregnant but after being on implant for a year, hearing it can take months, being on pill for over 6 weeks, i certainly wasnt expectng fall pregnant straight away lol And it did happen first month of not using anything in 14months lol
Me & Oh rent a lovely house together, but really hoping to buy next year. We'll been together 4 years this octoter.
Best of luck.
