Told your parents yet? - Page 3

im really close with my mum, which sort of made it harder for me to tell her as i hate seeing her upset or whatever.
my mum went mental saying she couldnt financially afford to have me and a baby staying at her house, my dad - suprisingly - was quite calm and told my mum that they would have to accept whatever i decide. their reactions have since changed about 15 times since then ! my mum and dad then went crazy when i said i wanted to keep it. now my mum has got it into her head that im having an abortion and i dont know how to tell her that i want to keep my bubba. scary !
i think we both just need to tell them tbh, the sooner we get it over with the easier the situation will be i hope (:

i told my mum 3 days after i found out.. well saying that i didnt tell her much i just burst into tears and she guessed

she didnt want this for me as she was a teenage mum and she knows how hard its going to be, i will be 20 when my first is born so after she had thought about how we would swap bedroom around etc shes got really excited... my dad just gave me a hug and my brothers just shrugged there sholders haha!

you will never get the reaction you think you will. i think your parents will be more upset if you tell them later and later and later, they wont want to be kept in the dark about something so major in your life you have to deal with!!

you will also feel so much better when your not hiding it anymore!

I have a funny story about telling my mom,
well me and my moms AFs run about the same time, so she noticed I wasn't taking any tampons outta the door, and shes like "have you got your period?" and i was like "oh no I havn't " ( I didn't even notice I was late! ) shes like "oh dear god your pregnant" and im like "no way!! " and I was the one who got upset :P so 3 test later

and she was right!
my mom told me I was pregnant, so I didn't have to tell her

When I told them (was pg with Kathryn) they were actually very calm on the phone (was at college so had to call). They went through a range of emotions, disappointment, upset, saying things like I'm going to work at McDonalds my whole life, that I was stupid, should get an abortion. They got over it it eventually and absolutely love Kathryn now, they get upset when they haven't seen her in a few days haha. I'm pg again though and I'm more scared to tell them this time! I'm close to 15 weeks and showing a bit now though so will have to soon. I know they will be disappointed and badger me that me and DH don't have enough money, etc etc. i don't want to deal with them, they don't care that I'm happy, just how I can't manage.

I told my parents within a week of finding out. at the time i was 6 weeks pregnant I wrote them a letter, which worked out VERY well actually. and then gave her the letter and went off to school. Once she read it, my boyfriend's dad had called (because he told his parents the same morning with a letter as well) and then yes they were all disappointed and upset. but they were very supportive. Now i'm almost 17 weeks pregnant and they are all too excited about having a little grandbaby on the way

I haven't told my mom yet, i'm planning on doing so in a couple more days. I'm not scared, I know she'll help support because we had a talk about it awhile back. I'm just getting over the shock myself and i'm trying to find a creative way in telling her.
