Help??

Hi, I've just gone on the pill about 6 days ago, but earlier me and my boyfriend had unprotected sex but I'm only 6 days into the packet and I didn't start it when I was on my period. Do you think I'll be protected? Oh and I've just taken the seventh one, just now. xx

i cant quite remember hun but when i went on the pill i kinda started straight away if you know what i mean im pretty sure ur covered however i cant quite remember

heya huni i cant member either but the best thing to do if your worried is speak to your doctor or local sexual health clinic..

I thought it took 2 weeks to be protected on the pill... but I may be wrong! I was on it for 3 years though and got pregnant!

Yeah I got pregnant on the pill too so if you're wanting to avoid pregnancy I'd advise using condoms too just to be sure.

But if you're not sure whether you're covered or not I'd ring up your doctor as they can usually tell you over the phone!

It should tell you on the little slip that comes in the packet along with the pills. Its usually around 2 weeks to be effective though, from what I can remember, from first day of your last period. If you're worried about pregnancy, best thing to do would be to get the morning after pill, then use condoms too until you're sure your protected.

I'm not on the pill myself and I've never been on it but I believe it takes about a month for the pill to actually begin working. I would say use condoms now for at least a month or so. Or talk to your doctor about it. If you do happen to get pregnant, the bc won't kill the baby though.

hey im on the microgynon 30 pill and it says you are not protected untill the seventh pill if not taken on the first day of your period. ive been off and on the pill many times and I usually only wait untill the fith pill untill unprotected sex. Never had a problem with this however everybody is different. I think its unlikely you are pregnant but if you dont get AF on your seven days off then take a test or go to your doctors. good luck x
