| Making the decision How did you make the decision on what birth you wanted next time round?
I know I'm not pregnant yet, but this has been on my mind for ages and I can't seem to make a definate decision on what to do when the time comes.
Do I have a c-sec purely to take away the fear/anxiety of loosing another baby during labour, or should I go natural and cross all fingers & toes? I just don't know

| It's such a difficult question to answer is this as although we've all been through the same thing, we've all had such completely different experiences that i am sure we will all have very different feelings on it.
Personally, i dont have a choice as the dr butchered me up a bit so its a c-section for me. If i had the choice i would have a natural birth as it was the c-section where everything went wrong for me. The thought of going back into that theatre makes me feel sick tbh. | | | | Status: Offline

| hi hun
my consultant said at lexi's PM result meeting that he may consider a c section. like dizzynic said its a huge operation so they try to be cautious. before i fell pregnant i thought i want a c section, now i am pregnant i am thinking i am going to try natural again (if nothing goes wrong before).
i think you should see how you feel as you go along. the one benefit of the c section is that you know by a certain time on a certain day your baby will be born so you dont have the fear of labour. i guess you should see how you feel when you get pregnant. i might freak by the time im due and just want the baby out safe and well. i guess its best to talk to your consultant xxx | | | | Status: Online

| Hi hun did they say Joshua lack of oxygen was from the labour?
With Callum they was so sure it wasnt from the labour but something happend at some point during the pregnancy they didnt know what or when they thought in the later stages though.
At first my mom felt it was from the labour he was a big baby and he got stuck shoulder dystochia(sp) but now we dont think that. Things dont get explained properly I feel during the pm results and your mind is going crazy its hard to think straight!
I was positive I wanted a c-section this time round just incase it was from the birth but after appointments with my consultant where we was learning something new about Callums pm results every time such as he had pneumonia (sp) which wasnt told to us before. The consultant kept saying its not from the birth that it had been looked at in detail and also there was many people in the room when I delivered because he had got stuck they had hit the emergency button thing so its not like it was just one midwifes story. I asked if you cant say when or why it happend how do you know it didnt happen at the labour and she said because the problem on his brain looked old. If this was said at the start things would of been so much easier. That although they didnt have answers for exactly when and why it happend but they had a answer for why they think it wasnt from the labour.
I know I need to go back to the hospital at some point as I still have lots of questions about Callum. There just isn't enough answers.
Only through Macy's pregnancy did I realise that I should of known before he was born something was wrong but I was naive I didnt realise that it wasnt right he didnt move much, he did move a few times a day and I thought that was okay I told my midwife he dosent really move and she said as long as he does I never really said well no he hardly moves!! It never crossed my mind that he wasnt moving enough.
Macy moved like crazy but I even had times where I thought even though she moves more than Callum is it enough?
When I was being induced with Macy and on a monitor I had to press a button everytime she moved the page was nearly full with her movements I never realised she moved so much!! But when I was on that monitor with Callum I must of pressed the button about once to Macy's ten. And I knew then in hospital looking at the sheet that she was going to be fine!!
The reason I decided to have a normal delivery was because I was told I would be induced around 38 weeks but if I wanted a c-section it would be done 39-40wks. I was scared about another baby getting stuck but Callum was born at 42 weeks so there would be 4 weeks growing differnce to the 2. And if they said Callum's problem happend inside me at the end then I didnt want to leave her in there any longer then I needed incase it was to happen again.
I know iv completely rambled here , but pm me if you want to ask about Callum or my last pregnancy and care xx | | | | Status: Offline

| My doctor won't perform c-section either unless it is absolutely necessary. When I fell pregnant with Jaime, I was a bit worried that I won't have natural because he was growing so fast. In fact, I'm still convinced had I gone full term I probably would have ended up having a c-section. Strangely enough, I'm still hoping for natural next time around just because it takes longer to heal with c-section and at some point, it becomes risky having babies with c-section (mainly because once you have c-section, the chances are that you'll always have c-section).
That said, if you still believe that natural was the reason for you little angel's death, than perhaps you should talk to your doctor about having c-section next time around. I think when you fall pregnant again, you'll know what to do... I believe its called a mother's instinct. All the best. | | | | Status: Offline

| I've not spoken to anyone about this yet but i think they would only offer me a natural birth. When Riley died they were monitoring my blood pressure etc and said they would only give me a c section if it became necessary because my womb is small and they thought if i had a c section they would probably have to remove my womb
