sad new years...

did anyone else have an awful hard time this new years? once babe fell asleep for the night i found myself in tears, because all i could think about was... "i'm 21 yrs old... all my friends are out having fun, and i'm home, by myself."
*sigh* this year did not start off on a good foot (except babe finally sitting on her own haha)

Awww. I did sort of for the first part of the night. Especially because Renah was throwing a fit the whole night and there was nothing that could be done to consol her! But she finally went to sleep about an hour before the new year and I imposed myself on my sisters friends and had a good time

I firmly believe that 2009 is going to be an excellent year for us 2008 single mommy's!

oh hun, i'm sorry you had a tough time but seriously new year is overrated and you have something far more important to bring you smiles...your lovely little baby

i work behind a bar at a nightclub (though giving it up soon due to bubs) and new year was full of drunk idiots starting fights with each other and bumping into each other and getting stressed...you didn't miss much!

perhaps for this year you could meet some new peeps in a similar position to you (ie with children) who would be up for having a 'calm but fun' house gathering next new years so you could still join in with baby in tow??? i don't know if you belong to any mother and baby groups but if not it could be great for you to join, cos you're certainly not the only one in your position but you'll feel like you are if you don't meet more peeps to share with...that way you'll have your clubby friends and mummy friends
x

yeah i used to work ina bar/restauranr scene too, how far along are you?!
I dont think i'd go downtown now if i had the option... its just not my scene anymore... i think i was more upset cause none of my friend thought "well maybe she needs some compant tonight"

as for mommy and baby playgroups... so far i havent been able to find anything, but i dont REALLY know where to look. its frustrating. haha. Oh welllll. maybe a few of my closer friends will have babies this year. then they'll understand more of how i feel.

i'm just over 13 weeks so next new years i'll be in same position as you!

a lot of our mother and baby groups in england are offered at local community centres, so maybe you could start by asking there? do you still have a health visitor involved? if so they'd know...or probably your local doctors surgery could tell you

I have a few friends who are starting their own baby group. Do you have other friends who have kids that you could get together for playdates sometimes?
