Made my decision. Leaving OH.

Well as some of you know things havn't been great and then yesterday he slammed me into a wall. So I have made the decision that enough is enough and I am leaving. Am looking into housing and benefits etc so any help would be great!

Sounds like you made the right decision!

Im not too sure about Housing Benifit myself, but im sure if you have questions someone else can answer them for you! But if your looking to go on income support than you need to call the job centre number (0800 055 6688) they will take down all your details, make an appointment for you at your local job centre and it will be sorted out from there! You will probably be able to ask them about HB aswell.

The housing association should house you fairly quickly especially with the violence and you have your LO to think about

Go to CAB for advice and they'll be able to help with benefits etc.

Hope everything works out ok for you and your LO

Definately sounds like you made the right choice, No man should be slamming people into walls let lone the mother of his child and partner. Best thing for LO is to be away from that kind of situation. Well done!

Thanks girls. My brother is coming to get me and James this evening. Have told the HV what is going on so she will help us sort things out with the new HV. And so I am now in the middle of packing up our clothes and documents. He has my car and mobile at the minute so I will phone him when I am about to leave and tell him I'm coming back on Saturday with my dad for both of them.

Good Luck!! Though hun..I would get your dad to get the car and mobile phone off him tonight as well. With him being violent towards you (a person) who's to say he wont take his anger out on your possessions (your car and mobile phone) I dont mean to worry you or anything but I would get them off him ASAP. xx

My dad works nights so he can't come up til the weekend. I wouldn't think he would take it out on the car cos he has no other way of getting to work. I was going to phone Orange later and get the phone cut off and a new sim sent to me at my parents house.
