whats everyone doin at christmas?

ok so there is just me and josh that live at home i know iam going for christmas dinner at my friends she has a baby 3 months younger than josh so that should be good but she has also asked if i wanted to stay the nite nd let the kids open their presents together which is a nice thing but i would rather stay at home.

last year i stayed at my mums and never had this problem i just feel like iam gonna wake up on christmas day and feel so lonely nd hurt that there is only gonna be me and josh and no daddy there.

iam good friends with joshuas dad so josh will be going round there for a couple of hours on christmas day but i dont think he would like to sleep over at mine even as friends

what are you ladies going to do in this situation?

Well since my husband and I split up I have been living on my own. So I will be going to bed on xmas eve on my own, and waking up on xmas morning on my own. Dreading it to be honest. Coming downstairs on xmas morning to an empty living room and a few presents under the tree. I will go to my sisters for dinner, and my nephew is 6 so i know he will cheer me up with his excitement of santa coming and all the presents he got.
I just cant wait til next year then I will have my wee baby and it will feel like a proper xmas again.

I've spent the past three Christmas's on my own. To be honest its only Christmas Eve / Christmas Day that's a mega problem. It passes quite quickly and the anticipation is worse than the reality. I find that avoiding all the gushy Xmas telly is good - going on the internet, a good book, anything to avoid the 'jollity' of it works well.

It's not nice - it's pretty horrific in fact, but it becomes just another day of the year. And afterwards you can hope the next one will be better

Plus you get to hear how horrible everyone elses family filled Xmas Days were with arguments... although I must admit, I think I'd rather have that than 100% being on your own.... lol

Chin up girls!! We have to be up beat if we can. I am looking on it that, even when I was with FOB, he was never there for christmas, at least the last two christmasses and this year I will be with bubs! Which will be awesome, if slightly frighening! But all positive and I hope to make the best of my friends at this time. Family is somewhat lacking. But I am going to really try and make the most of it and I would seriously have open house to anyone who wanted to come round!!! Sending you all a big hug!!!!

I am spending Christmas eve with my twin sister and my two sons. We share a home together, me and my children and her and her children. Her children are going to their dads this year. Mine at teatime on Xmas day. Can you tell I don't like living alone!!? I like house sharing. We are spendng Christmas day together. I must admit I would prefer if I was married or settled with an OH and sharing Christmas as a kind of "traditional family" because I have idealistic ideas about things. Christmas is advertised as a romantic time as well as a family time don't you think? but I am looking forward to it this year. I kind of would like it to have more people. I like the idea of a large family occasion! I have had Christmas with just a small child though and it does feel lonely. I am just so glad my sister will be here.
