Day Bed From Next Directory

well I went into next a few weeks ago and looked thru the directory and noticed a day bed for my girl (125 pounds) so I went up to the till n paid for it on my debit card.. on my way out I noticed the same day bed in the same directory a few pages later for 99 pounds so I quieried that and was told that there seemed to be no difference (apart from the 99 pound one was stated as being a few cm's bigger). Bugger this I thought, I aint paying 26 pounds more for a bed thats slightly 'smaller'. I explained to the cashier who took my debit card and processed the sale of the 99 pound bed. When asked what about the refund for the 125 pound one she said 'oh its ok we will void that later'. Erm.... nooooooo. The manager came over when I said I wanted it done then and did somethng on the till which printed off a void slip for the 125 amount. Off I went home... then the other day I got a call from next delivery asking when a good day was to bring my bed. We set up a day and then I was asked if I wanted both items brought on that day?!?! BOTH?!?! I quieried this and was told that the other bed had not been voided. I rang my bank and they confirmed that no void or refund had been made from next and that both amounts had actually been debited from my account. NEXT proceeded to say that the one bed I ordered was infact a hearts single bed not a day bed and passed me onto a manager. This man then stated that they 'were' day beds and said he would cancel the requested one. I have noticed now that he has proceeded to give me a refund for the 99 pound bed. So I may aswell kept with the 125 pound one in the first place cuz ive ended up paying the dearer price anyway. I cant be arsed to mess about voidin that one n gettin a new delivery date etc. The thing is... why have the same item twice in the catalogue for diff prices. also surely other customers have noticed this error and a memo must be in circle around the stores etc to prevent others doin what I have done and ordering the wrong bed or paying more for a bed thats advertised cheaper?!?! any suggetions? If I email them maybe they will sort me out the difference in price or sommat?! false advertising surely? xxx

I would probably contact them and ask for the price difference to be refunded (£26) and say if they dont then youll go and complain about false advertising.

Im just shocked that none of the staff seemed to realise there was an error in the catalogue.

i work for sainsburys and we can actually get fined up to £1000 if anything is either priced incorrectly or not at all!!! Do not know how this differs from other stores, however would have thought it would be similar, I personally would email them to claim your £26.00 back plus expenses of phonecalls (if any) at worst they may offer you some cash back/vouchers as a goodwil jesture. Explain the situation clearly to them and that you feel an unsatisfactory level of service has been received and ask them to reply within a 2 week time limit. they will i am sure rather have to reimburse you than loose you as a future customer.

good luck xx
