Seriously cheesed off :(

I had my hysteroscopy and laparoscopy at the end of May. Whilst they looked about insode, the discovered that I had extensive endo (too much to do something about during that op), my right ovary is enlarged and covered with a very large cyst and my bowel is connected to my right ovary with adhesions . The fertility consultant decided that he would refer me to the endometriosis specialist before IVF can continue.

Each consultant has their own lists and so I ended up back at the bottom. An appointment was arranged for 13th Aug but it has been put back until the end of Aug due to lack of staff. I am terrified about the op itself (they'll try to save the ovary but they won't know until they go in - if they do it keyhole, recovery time is around 2 weeks but if they need to make a bigger incision, recovery is nearer 6 weeks) - the op itself is 2-3 hours long!

I suspect the timescale for the op will be around 6 weeks after my consultation - making it mid October. I am fed up waiting. We won't go back to the fertility clinic until everything is given all clear from gyne.

Meanwhile hubby had a seizure in the middle of the night a few days after my lap (scared the lights out of me). He has never had anything like it before and has now had to give up driving for 12 months. We live in the country with the nearest petrol station 10 miles away! When I do go in for my op, I have no idea how I am going to hospital and hubby is going to have probs getting to visiting. If they do open me up properly, I will not be allowed to drive for around 4 weeks afterwards.

On top of all this, we had hoped to go on holiday in November to Orlando. But we can't do anything about holidays until we know when I'll be going in and what recovery I'll have. We've not been able to afford to get away this year so far (due to us funding our wedding last November) and now hubby can't get time off work before my op because too many other people are off.

I am generally hacked off and feeling down. I like to come onto this forum to read of the experiences of everyone - it helps me remember that I am not alone....fertility issues are very lonely! I'm sorry I don't post much but I feel I cannot contribute as much as everybody else.

Sorry for the long post - just needing to know we are not alone.

Keep your chin up sweetie, there's not much you can do unless you have any friends or family that can help you re transport during your op time. Unless you take him with you on the morning of your op and get him to phone in sick. Tavel via taxi maybe?Sorry to hear about your husband. I hope you can get something arranged to help you out.

I am sorry you are having such a hard time. I hope things get better for you. I guess taxi would be better for you if you don't have anyone else to drive you.

Hope everything goes well with your op and you get your BFP very soon.

Thank you girls. We'll figure something out for transport - probably will rope my friend into it depending if she is working or not. The hospital is 30 miles away so I dread to think what a taxi would cost but if needs must......

Trying to keep looking on the positive side tho - when I can find it

Best of luck HevTT, I'm sorry to hear about your DH...not what either of you need on top of everything else. I can only imagine how you must be feeling right now...I hope you have some close friends and family you can talk to to keep your spirits up as well as coming on here. Everyone around here is good to talk to as we know how hard things can get
