Just having a day feeling sorry for myself just feeling bit of abdo discomfort and shoulder pain. Got taken first yest so was on table for 8am, i've got a mild latex sensitivity so had to be done first just in case!! Got 3 puncture sites with self disolving stitches. Consultant spoke to me and dh before i went home, was happy with everything used dye and everything was clear. He told us to carry on trying for another year, i was slightly fragile at the time so never said anything but luckily dh spoke up and said will be two years next month ttc. So plan now is we've got an appointment for 4 months time, he says often flushing tubes thru helps, so fingers crossed. Otherwise we will see him in 4 months and will be put on ivf waiting list which is about a year long and he will start iui while were waiting to reach top of list. Did your consultant give any further plans for you both???

I hope the flushing of the tubes works...rest up and feel better soon.

I am happy to hear it all went well cazhd. We have also being trying for about two years. We have an appointment with out Specialist (the Dr) on Tuesday, so we should get some more info off him then. Before the surgery, we were both under the "unexplained infertility" heading. He said that he finds 50 - 70% of women under this title have endometriosis of some degree. So with me, he found moderate on the left side. So....with that being found and removed, tubes flushed etc, I am hoping our won't be too far away. He did say back then that after the op he was going to give us 6 months to naturally tcc before progressing any further.

I have heard good stories of success after this op as it tends to clean and clear everything out. I read somewhere that the first 6 - 8 months (I think - unless anyone else here knows/has heard) is when you are really fertile and have great successful . I am hoping that there might be some lady's out there that can give us some success stories after this op, will help give us hope and encouragement.

I am emotionally still going through a bit at night (my worst time - I just get sad). I read in our local newspaper that a girl I went to school with just had her third baby. Meanwhile, I am soon to be 36 and still longing for my first, I feel I am missing out and my life is going by too fast, and the pain of it all gets too much sometimes. I don't want to be 36 or 37 and having my first. Its the way it is working out and I cannot change that, but it still hurts. I feel direction less and lost at times because of it. My DH will be 48 by the time we have our first. I don't want our kids to grow up thinking we are too old and be embarrassed, we don't feel old but life has/is getting away from me/us. If we decide we want more than one or two, we better have them pretty quickly as I feel time is against us.

Anyway, enough of my sob story. How are you feeling today cazhd? Hope you are having a better day. Hows the physical pain going? I was lucky enough not to get any shoulder tip pain. I do have a sore throat from the LMA/airway tube though. Pain crept in a little this morning, took my meds straight away to get on top of it before it got worse. Good news that you only have to wait 4 months before the Dr will pursue other avenues for you. Have you thought of traditional chinese medicine and acupuncture? They might be worth looking into during these next 4 months, I've also read/heard good success stories with these types of treatment.

How long do you have off work cazhd?

Hey feeling bit better today, stomach tender when moving sometimes but shoulder pain gone thank goodness. Felt a bit low last night like yourself, dh was night shift so was sitting feeling sorry for myself

Hopefully you'll find out whats next when you meet dr on tue, fingers crossed. I thought i would feel more optimistic after op but now he has put us in unexplained category feel worse. Consultant said our chances will increase for the next four months but scared what happens after that, feel like my dream is moving further away. I know you feel the same. He told us to relax but i really feel the last 6 months i haven't been obsessing, i stopped all temping and cm. I tend to know when i ov and check on the sticks and make sure we do around then. What more can i do? I've thought bout accupuncture, i got a number last week cos considering it, have you tried it?

I understand what you mean bout age, but i'm sure you'll be great parents no matter what age and your children will be much loved and wanted which is what counts. My dh was a late child for both his mum and dad and he said he never felt that his parents were old compared to everyone elses and certainly wasn't embarassed.

Having a couple of weeks off work, consultant said the week but because of my work not going in cos on feet for 12.5 hrs and bending/lifting/turning/overstrectching all the time so not good idea, will see my gp this week.

When you back at work? Big

Cazhd, Sorry you were at home on your own feeling lowsy, thats no good
So did they find anything when doing the lap? I will be keeping my fingers crossed that we both get our in the next couple of months. I will be seeing the Dr tomorrow and so we should know more by tomorrow afternoon. Prior to the op he did recommend trying naturally for 6 months, but I may see if 4 months is enough. I don't want too let too much time pass in fear nothing happens, which I think you and I are both are worried about at the moment. If the Dr says its ok, we will be going back to TCM and acupuncture. The Chinese medicine guy we go to is really good and caring, DH and I had only a month of treatment before I had to stop due to the surgery. TCM and acupuncture can be done on both you and your husband (if he is interested) as it increases fertility health of both couples. Our guy also works in with western medicine which is good. So far I have noticed that the is a bright red and fresher looking and noticed more CM. So I think it works and I am hoping that using TCM and acupuncture in the next few months will give us the we are after. Chinese medicine gets your overall health and energy good which then makes conceiving happen. I hope I have given you some helpful information, if you have any questions, feel free to ask and I will do my best to answer them for you.

Thank you for your uplifting response to my concern about age, as it is something that has saddened me. Your response has helped me feel better about it and given me a positive perspective that I needed, thank you.

As for when I go back to work, I might try for the two weeks as they recommend no heavy lifting for at least two weeks after, and in my job, I do have to do some lifting and bending, twisting etc also.

Hope you had a better day today

Hi good to hear from you this morn, feeling more like myself today, nearly human

Consultant said apart from one tube which was a bit sticky he didnt see anything and certainly nothing to affect conceiving. Wondered what sticky meant, although i never said much cos he picked me off the floor before speaking to me cos i was a little faint, lol!!

The two weeks off sounds like a good plan for the both of us i think. Think i'll maybe phone and inquire about the place local to me that does accupunture, can't do any harm to try it.

Good luck for tomorrow, let me know how it goes

Hi Cazhd, I am glad you are feeling better. Sounds like the Dr hasn't found anything of any significance to hinder you conceiving. Have you also tried temping, OPKs etc? So does that mean the Dr has put you in the unexplained category? How did you go after the anesthetic as I remember you were concerned how you would be after the op?! How did you go with TCM and acupuncture? Let me know how you go, would be interested to hear how you find it. Fingers crossed for you.

I have planed to go back to work at the beginning of June. The Dr said to take off as much time as I need. I am hoping the swelling would have gone down by then as I couldn't button up a pair of pants yesterday, my waist line was too large

How is your recovery going? Are you still swollen? Any pain, etc? Are you still taking post op meds?

Welcome noja, how are you going after your op? Have you had a chance to see your specialist Dr since the operation? Has he discussed any recommendations? Did the Dr take out the endo? Did you have any symptoms of endo or was it a surprise?

I went and saw my Dr yesterday. He suggested 6 months maximum of trying on our own as he has given us a 40% chance it will happen. Even though I am ovulating on my own, he has given me a low dose of Clomid to assist. This month may be a bit messed up from the op, as I have been having small amounts of bleeding everyday since my op, so at this stage I don't know when the has started. I may be due today or tomorrow, or maybe it wont be like normal due to the constant bleeding. Anyone else had bleeding since the op?

Dr has put us in the unexplained category!! Haven't contacted accupunture people yet but husband says he'll give it a go too which is good

Feeling better emotionally today just back from lunch my father in law treated me so was nice and went for some fresh air. Only small amount of swelling now, got some bruising coming out (lower abdomen) and the incison in my belly button is really inflammed and it started bleeding this morn. Not sure how long stitches take to dissolve? Still sore but stopped taken meds don't like taking them and i'm still really nauseated and faint after anaesthetic so thought they probably weren't helping.

Thats good your taken plenty of time off, a well disserved rest. That's good appointment went well glad his leaving you a max 6 months and still giving you reasonable chance on your own. Have heard other people being prescribed clomid when they ovulate normally, really confusing but hey you never know might do the trick. Let me know how you get on with it, i hope you don't get any of the side effects.

take care
