Funny Christmas Stories

So the weathers miserable outside, we could all do with something to make us smile ... who's got a funny christmas story to tell? Who has burnt the dinner? Thrown something away they shouldnt have? Knocked the christmas tree over?

I think the funniest christmas i remember was when i was about 10 years old ... we werent allowed to get out of bed before 6am, so me thinking it was 6.10am jumps out of bed and starts running around the house waking everyone up yelling "its christmas, its christmas get up get up" ... needless to say when my mum got up and realised it was actually 2.30am she was mega pissed

What? It wasnt my fault it was dark and i couldnt read the clock properly

Hahahaha! Loving that one!!

OK, so my one was about 9 years ago I think. It was my last Christmas at home. We'd done all the normal christmassy things, opened our pressies, had dinner, etc. My foster brother had a scooter for christmas and asked if I could go with him outside to play. So, off I went in my boots, with a bit of a heal and after a couple of baileys and yes, decided it would be a good idea to have a go on the scooter myself!!

Well I fell right over and was in absolutely agony, damaged my fingers. My dad said I wouldn't be able to have any painkillers cos I had been drinking, so to just have a few more baileys! Then I had to go to the hospital to have it checked out oh my goodness how embarrassing!! x

This isnt so much a funny story but more me thinking at 8 i was sooooo smart, mum and dad had come in to check we were asleep and i pretended i was, altho i wasnt, and heard them getting the ladder down to the attic.. i felt so smug the next day knowing they got the preasents from up there i quized them on everything!

Santa left the cherry glass in the kitchen not the place it was left (dad had one too many did he??)and the carrots were put away... but they left the plate..

I soo had one over on my brother cos he didnt know! LOL the joys of being 8!

Christmas 2002, my DS's first Christmas and my first Christmas in my own home..me and OH went shopping and got a huge frozen turkey a few days before the big day and put it in the fridge to defrost..come Christmas morning i put it in the oven and left it to cook..a few hours later i said to OH it smelt funny and my Mums had never smelt like this but we decided it was because it was a frozen one and my Mum has fresh..i did the rest of the dinner and then i got really concerned about the smell of this turkey, so i rang my Mum and told her it smelt funny..so she was asking questions then asked me if i had taken the giblets out of it. I had no idea what giblets were, so she told me to take it out the oven and look ip the hole, sure enough theres a plastic bag with gliblets in it in the middle of my turkey. I cried, lots lol. OH said he didnt care but i couldnt bring myself to eat it cause of the smell, so i had sausage with my Chrsitmas dinner.
Every year since we have gone to my Mums for dinner cause of the flashbacks i feel i would have if i attempted it again lol.

Last year, my Grandma ordered a turkey crown and a ham from the butcher. She obviously wasnt paying much attention when she put the 'ham' in to boil, as when she went to put the turkey in....she realised that was the ham. And all boiled and lovely was the turkey. Oops. Poor love was beside herself. But they did the ham properly, and just forewent side orders of boiled turkey!

The first one that springs to mind is when I was about 6/7 me and my cousin snuck down stairs and ate all the chocolates out of everyones advent calendars, I think it was the same year the cat pulled the tree down. The second one wasn't that long ago, my Dad was putting the christmas decorations up and fell of the chair, he completely tore the arse of his jeans. Not that funny now their down in writing

Wasn't funny back then but is now i think of it

I think i was about 10/11 and had asked my parents for a barbie house for Christmas. Anyway, i got it and was mega excited but it'd been snowing outside so i didn't want to play with the house, i wanted to play outside in the snow My parents road is pretty steep and it'd become quite slippery, i knew cars wouldn't have a chance of getting up so i decided i'd take the huge box that my barbie house came in and go sledging in it. What a silly idea that was. I was only tiny so i got in the box and asked me brother to gently slide me down the road, instead, he decided he'd run and kick the sodding thing sending me flying down the road......i couldn't do anything and was hoping to god there wasn't a car deciding to try and get up our road otherwise i would have ended up in the front of it I eventually landed at the bottom, hit the roundabout and bounced out the box

I was not amused. I left the box at the bottom of the road and cried all the way home saying i'd never play out in snow again

We lived in a small flat and as we had to tuurn our living room into a bedroom so we had to have cristmas dinner in the kitchen which ONLY JUST accommodated the table. So we all sat at the table, me, my brothers and sister, watched as my mum (single parent) sweated in the small kitchen cooking the dinner and so we sat down in our poky kitchen, absolutely sweating, with the washing up behind us....THEN.....we had one of those tables that has flaps you lift up....anyway the flap decided to break and so my mum had to eat one handed holding up the flap of the table with her other hand!! How she didnt lose it i dont know!!

Hee hee great thread!

I don't think anything very funny has happened at Christmas - but one year we were all ill with flu on Christmas day and none of us could face eating anything so we had beans on toast for our Christmas dinner - with crackers and paper hats!

Wasn't funny at the time, but I was about 7 and woke up on Christmas morning (or so I thought) to the pillowcase at the end of bed bed being empty (this is where Santa used to leave my presents). I ran down the stairs and cried my little heart out because I thought I'd been bad to find my stepdad doing the dishes. It was only about 10.30pm!!!
