dont like character toys!!

am i the only one who doesnt really like character toys!? there seems to be sooooo many of them!
Charlie doesnt like any particular character i mean he likes to watch tv but hes not THAT in to it! hes not like In the Night garden Obsessed or Thomas the tank! He likes trains Yes but hes never watched thomas the tank ever and probably hasnt got a clue who he is!
Same with everything! i was looking for a bean bag chair there all bob the builder, In the night garden, Post man pat, Dinsney cars!

Im just strugeling to find toys for him that arnt character ones!
even books puzzles everything the whole toy market seems too have gone in the night garden and thomas the tank crazy!

TBH i have never thought about it but yes your right it is mainly based on characters but then again there are brand toys available like Tomy/Fisher price/ ELC and my Jack has dozens of books that are not character ones......mostly bought in shops like the works/Mothercare/smiths etc.

I don't like buying character toys/merchandise either (Elyse has watched some TV but not anymore).. for books, I tend to stick to "classic" kids books that I read when I was young, for toys I go for Fisher-Price etc.. don't think we have one toy that is Dora/Thomas/etc...

Actually we have some Winnie the Pooh stuff! But other than that not much really. Her ball pit is going to be Princesses.

see i dont mind winnie the pooh because thats classic! Princesses i recon if i had a girl i could do that yeah but dora and everything else its just blah! Charlie has TWO thomas trains both exactly the same tiny little ones that my gran bought for him! really i think he'll only get stuff like that if other people get it but it makes the choice harder for me! example there was this electronic game thing that you steped on n stuff n lernt things, GREAT idea but it was in the night garden! so its all Iggly Piggle and Ninky Nonks or whatever! (tasha you probably dont even get in the night garden over there do you!?) anyway its stupid

Mostly ITNG stuff because I know she will recognise it and Tigger stuff cos she IS obsessed with him!!

We get In the Night Garden

Elyse & I don't watch it though

We have about 4 different channels with kids shows on all day, the one has a bunch of cbeebies and then Canadian-made shows, IF we watch TV it's Playhouse Disney! She particularly enjoys "Bunnytown" and "Johnny and the Sprites"... but they don't have toys... and I'm convinced it's the songs more than it is the characters she likes.

BTW I was in Wal Mart today and this little girl was standing in the shopping cart screaming about Thomas (the Tank Engine) because her parents would only buy her one Thomas toy..

I do have some Yo Gabba Gabba ones and ITNG. But really she doesn't care.

I hate them too , never bought anything for Ella character as she has no intrest in tv.
Carly had one fifi doll hardly played with and one dora doll which she chose and cherises.

But Cant stand em! I hate ITNG too
