Yesterday morning I had my 12 weeks scan, saw baby happy and healthy licking around! Then last night was sat watching tv and felt warm down there and was covered in blood, all over! I got up and it poured all down my leg! No clots or tissues just bright red blood. Oh rang for an ambulance while I sat shivering and crying my eyes out. A and e did nothing and told me to go back today for a scan. Scan is booked for 9:15 and I'm petrified, im still spotting bright red blood.

Has anyone heard of anything like this and baby be ok? How can everything be fine in the morning and not 10 hours later! I'm so scared, I'm having little cramps a bit like period pains but nothing agonising! I'm so scared I'm losing my baby only hours after seeing it kicking and heart beating away!

I recently had my 19 week appointment. Everything on the ultra sound looked completely normal, until they looked at his belly. The lady said that there was too much fluid in there, and it didn't really go away during the ultrasound.

That was the only concern for the doctor, and she wanted me to get blood drawn to test for chromosome problems - such as Downs, because it a full belly can be a symptom of that. I really don't want to think of him having that, and I doubt that he does because I'm very young (17) and have absolutely no family history of that.

I was wondering if you know ANYTHING that it could be, I'm very scared and I haven't been able to stop thinking about it since my last appointment.

- Also, I don't know if this makes it any better but the doctor didn't schedule me for an immediate appointment after, just my next check up in 3 weeks. She didn't seem to concerned either, but I don't get the results from the labs about my blood for for another week!

Hello,

I am new to posting on this site but have found reading some of the threads really useful.

Any way just wanted some feedback about my current situation. This is my 2nd pregnancy and i am 38 weeks and my platelets and blood pressure are being monitored weekly as i had HELLP at the end of my last pregnancy. My platelets are dropping every week but it doesn't look like HELLP at the moment as i don't have any other symptoms. My specialist has said that if my platelets drop below 100 i will need to be induced (last week they were 115 and get next lot tomorrow). Has any one else been induced when platelets have dropped below 100? I am a little worried about being induced as friends i have seem to have had less than favourable experiences where induction is concerned. In my last pregnancy i went into spontaneous labour at 37 weeks which was lucky because that is when all the HELLP stuff kicked off and i would have been induced if i hadn't been in labour. I like to think my lovely little girl was helping her old mum out buy getting a shift on.

Sorry to ramble just interested to see how others have faired.

Thanks

He said I'm high risk so they'll have to monitor me more, this is my first pregnancy so I'm a little on my eek side about it. Any ladies who has this defect? I need comforting words of advice. :(
He told me he's had around six mothers with a bicornuate uterus two which ended in miscarriages. I freaked!
Im leaving it in God's hand for my little blueberry.

Hey there BnBers! So we finally found out our little bean is a girl!!! Happy Happy news. Not so happy news, We found out last Thursday that our little baby has extra fluid in her tummy. So we were sent to a maternal fetal medicine. Today, we saw the specialist. She has a fair amount of fluid in her abdomen the point that her little belly is measuring 33 weeks instead of the 30. Brain development is fantastic in fact everything else is doing fantastic. The specialist recognized an amniocentesis. Which we did today. The specialist seems to be leaning towards two things one being that I have been exposed to a virus and exposed the baby- I work in an indigent health clinic. Or, two her little lymphatic system has not caught up with her yet. So now the waiting game begins. We will see the specialist on 17th. Has anyone else experienced this? Totally worried about our little Maddie Lou!!

I'm popping over here from the TTC board to see if I can get a bit of help/advice for my friend, Sindy.

Sindy is due in just a couple months and was told yesterday that her LO may have a Duplicated Ureter. From everything we've been able to find, it's very common, but she is still worried. The words "Birth Defect" are just plain scary!

Did anyone else have their LO diagnosed with a Duplicated Ureter? Any advice? Words of wisdom? Outcomes? She's being sent to a neo-natal urologist for a follow up to figure out if the baby for sure has the Duplicated Ureter or not. Does anyone have any advice on what questions to ask? What to expect?

I'd love to connect her with other mommies/soon-to-be-mommies who have experienced something similar and might be able to offer some support! Let me know if you might be able to help.

Thank you!

please dont read and run as im getting no help whatsoever in 3rd tri and its really getting me down as nobody will reply to my threads

i have my 36 week growth scan tuesday and then appointment with consultant to make the delivery plan, what im wondering is if there would be any point in asking for induction as soon as possible?

this is my 4th baby and each have been induced so i am aware of the induction process and what goes with it, i have GD which im on metformin 500mg x2 daily and my sugars are now getting hard to control. I have very bad SPD which my MW has said that isnt being helped by the fact that this is my 4th baby and so all my muscles are slack and not holding things up well anymore.

He is measuring over the 90th centile on the growth scans and my fundal height is 3 weeks ahead at each visit, he is head down but not engaging and is at brim but my last baby was at brim until 2 hours before i had him!

Last night i was in hospital and saw another doctor as i was having mild contractions that have since stopped completely and she said that if i was to labour now that they would just let me get on with it as baby is "well grown" and a "good size" in other words he is big!

So anybody who has GD or delivered via induction for this could you tell me whether there is any point in asking for a early induction?

This isnt because I am desperate to meet baby and trying to get him out quick for selfish reasons, i really am in pain, feel sick constantly with my sugars, not sleeping and fed up.

thanks for reading x

I was diagnosed Type 2 Diabetic in October 2010 so way before being pregnant and I have been very well controlled for well over a year now. I had my HBA1C levels checked 5 weeks ago and it was 5% or 33mmol which is the best it's ever been after losing 4 stone.

I was very proud with myself as my specialist is a smug bugger and had no faith in me when he diagnosed me with my sugars at 23.0 in Oct 2010.

Anyway he said to me yes well this may be good however we may still have to put you on insulin injections aswel (currently on 500mg 3 times a day Metformin). This has really upset me as surely there is no need for this?? What would my HBA1C have to get to for him to do this really? Am I likely to go that far out of control? And also would it then be a permanent thing as I really don't want to inject :(

Thanks in advance ladies xx

I found out I was 8 weeks pregnant a week ago, then two days later I started experiencing cramping and spotting. I went to see my doctor and she sent me straight to A&E where in the waiting room I believe to have miscarried. (I bled heavily quite suddenly, tissue was passed) After my bloods were taken, I only had a HCG level of 87! Puzzling.. As this should have been in the 1000's!

Anyway, they sent me to the women and childrens unit where I had an internal, where he told me my cervix was shut, therefore I didn't miscarriage. In fact, when he tried to put something in there to scrape out any left over tissue he couldn't get anything in! At this point he suggested two things, I've either misinterpretted my due date and I'm really early on in pregnancy and the bleeding is unexplained, or I've miscarried and my uterus contracted once then went back to normal (explaining a closed cervix) ... They suggested blood tests to check my HCG levels..

So two days later, I have my bloods taken, my HCG levels have gone up to 147.. Could I still be pregnant? They couldn't answer that for me as apparently I could have left over tissue that's releasing the hormone.. And to go back in another 2 days for more tests!

HELP????? I've experienced no more bleeding, just mild cramping since..
:shrug::shrug::shrug:

Okay, so I initially thought that I would be 11 weeks Thursday, but due to a tad bit of spotting (very light) I went to the hospital because of course it freaked me out. So while being checked they perform my first ultrasound. The technician said that I couldn't be as far along as I thought because she didn't see anything except for an gestational sac, so she said I measured to be about 6 to 6 1/2 weeks. I was confused and hurt all at the same time. Of course they tell me that I'm not as far along as I think I am or the baby isn't growing like he/she should. They give me my Hcg level and it was 31,000. I went to the doctor yesterday to see if any changes could be seen in my 2nd ultrasound and again there was nothing ! Just a gestational sac and yolk sac. She then told me that my levels were to high and she should definitely see something by now then she said basically I should abort or wait to miscarry or wait a couple of more weeks to see if anything shows up. I will find out if my Hcg level doubled Monday. I don't know what to do.. I just wanted to know if anybody else has had this problem and what was the outcome ?

I had my cervix check this morning - I've been going every two weeks for a trans-vaginal ultrasound. I'm 22 weeks and they said they plan on checking until 24 weeks.

They said I was having a braxton-hicks contraction at the time and my cervix kinda looked like a V at the top by the baby's head. The length was 3.5cm and they said that was fine, but it was 4cm or a little more two weeks ago. The doctor hadn't gotten in yet, but they said they'd call if he wanted me to be checked again next week. I don't know when to worry.

Will that top part close again after the contraction or does it stay open? Should I expect my cervix to shorten more and, if so, how fast does that happen? I feel like they don't give me any answers, it's like they want to keep pregnant women in the dark!! Thank you for any info, I'm just really scared after my previous losses.

My OB ordered an obstetrics ultrasound due to threatened miscarriage.

According to my last blood test, my hormone levels are fine and increasing. However they are consistent with 6-7 weeks.

Whereas ultrasound dates my pregnancy at 5 weeks 6. Fetal pole is present at 3mm but no heartbeat.

I just wanted to know if anyone has had the same problem. I thought it was too early to find a heartbeat at this stage. I've had no bleeding, spotting or cramping and feel healthy.

I had irregular periods in 2011. Missed my period Jul-Aug and then my cycle was 42 days. This is why I had the tests done; to check due date.

My next ultrasound and blood test will be in a week. I'm keeping positive but still want some peace of mind seeing as this is my first pregnancy. If anyone could help it would be appreciated.

Im 35 weeks preggers and went for my normal weekly checkup today. My doctor does weekly ultrasound with the checkups. Well today they told me that the blood flow through the umbilical cord was high and there was pressure on it. Of course im worried because i dont know what this means but my doctor reassured me that my LO was fine and he was looking good and so was everything else but shes having me come see her twice a week now to keep an eye on the pressure on the umbilical cord. I still dont know exactly what it means and whats causing it so my question is have any of you heard of this?? And if the answer is goin to make me worry please refrain from telling me. I refuse to look it up on google so i hope someone can fill me in on what it means! Thanks

Heres a little background info. I have a little boy who is 5. That pregnancy was normal. After I had him I found out I have hypothyroidism and PCOS. Last year I had a miscarriage in March. It only took us 4 months to get prego which is great beings I have PCOS. My levels started out low and I had to take progesterone suppositories. We found out it was a blighted ovum at my first ultrasound. Fast forward to this year.... On Jan 17 I found out I was prego which was 2 days before my period was suppose to start. I got the panel of blood work done and my HCG came back at 13.78 and progesterone was 11.4. I started taking progesterone suppositories again and had to repeat the blood work in 3 days. This is how theyve been....
Jan 17 HCG 13.78 Progest 11.4
Jan 20 HCG 37.76 Progest 21.30
Jan 27 HCG 218.46 Progest 23
Jan 30 HCG 398.27 Progest 19.20
Feb 2 HCG 678.59 Progest 17.80

Theyre not quite doubling but they are rising and Ive read that as long as they have a 60% increase its ok. Im not sure why my progesterone is dropping either. Has anyone started out with low levels not doubling and had everything be alright???

Hello Ladies,
I am 14 weeks post delivery to my wonderful son, Jaxson who was born 9 weeks early due to my severe preclampsia/HELLPS. Long story short, I developed some visual issues and they did an MRI, though they could not see a stroke, they could not say for sure if I had one or not. Well, Since then my visual changes have gotten much better, but I feel like Im losing my mind. I am lost midsentence almost always, In the begining I was driving and I forgot what side of the road I should be on( I stopped driving) and the other day, When I drove, I couldnt for the death of me figure out where I was going, even though I've been 100s of times. I put stamps on the wrong side of the envelope, and when I realized it was wrong, I couldnt figure out where it really should go...simple little mistakes like that. I feel like I have dejuvu everyday. My family says that "Im just tired" after taking care of my son. The neurologist in the hospital said it should get better with time, but I feel like Im going crazy...its frustrating. Have any of you had this????
Thank you!
Liz

So I had the full screening. I opted for it even though I am only 29 and my dr. thought I was low risk, he offered it to me anyway. My insurance pays so I figured why not.

My first trimester bloods and ultrasound were good. The NT measurement was only like 1.6 mm or something, very normal, and the bloods combined with that gave me a Downs risk of 1 in 27,000.

I had my second trimester bloods drawn at 14 weeks 6 days. Had my ultrasound at 18 weeks 5 days. The measurements on ultrasound were perfectly fine, according to the drs.

The dr. told me that my Inhibin-A levels are elevated (2.24 MoM). The other blood levels were normal. My dr. told me that this could mean IUGR later in the pregnancy and that I should have another ultrasound between 30-32 weeks.

I did some reading of my own online and there are many medical articles stating that elevated Inhibin A in the second tri is a good indicator of Downs. Also an indicator in women who may develop pre-eclampsia, growth problems, etc.

I feel like my dr. is not taking this seriously enough. I know it's too late for an amnio and now I guess I will just have to wait and see at birth if my baby has Downs or wait till near the end of the pregnancy and see what is on ultrasound.

Just wondering if anyone else has some wisdom on this.

Hi everyone I'm new to this site but the postings I have read over the last few days have been a huge comfort to me.
I had a prophylactic suture placed at 14 weeks after we lost our beautiful baby girl at 23 1/2 weeks last July. My cervix was shortened but the OB wasn't sure whether I have an IC as such or had PROM.
This time round we were shocked to find at our 18 week scan that my cervix had shortened to 1.3cm with funnelling.
I have been on self imposed bedrest since then and have been experiencing some mild contractions/tightenings (in hindsight for several weeks).
Everything seemed to settle down yesterday then last night I had a small gush of fluid when I went to the bathroom. Its sweet smelling so I presume is amniotic fluid. From what I can read when you get small leaks its often the hindwaters which aren't such a major?
I'm due another scan on Weds to check my cervical length but I don't think I want to know where we're at! Also worried about further vaginal scans stirring things up and making them worse.
I'm going out of my mind at the prospect of going through the whole thing all over again. Couldn't bear to lost another lovely baby girl.
Can anyone offer me any advice or reassurance?

I'm worried as my first pregnancy i had pre eclampsia at 39 weeks and then high blood pressure during my second labour but up until those points my blood pressure was 120/80 throughout.

Hi everyone, I was diagnosed as having a uterus didelphys (2 complete uteri, 2 complete cervixes and a vaginal septum) and am now 13 weeks pregnant with my first.

I spoke with my OB and he informed me that because of the size and shape of my uterus I almost certainly will need a c-section due to the baby not being able to turn around to be head down and the uterus not contracting well and have a much higher risk of going into preterm labour.

I can live with the c-section and the baby being breach, my concern is going into pre-term labour. My fear is delivering at 24 weeks or something, not at all good. Also, I would LOVE to breastfeed and I know that's not possible with a tiny preemie usually.

Does anyone have any experience with this and had a successful pregnancy where they were able to carry to full term or almost?

Ok, I'm not exactly sure if I'm pregnant yet because I'm waiting to miss my period still. However I've been having symptoms like feeling queasy and craving olives every night. Also, for the past few days (since I've REALLY started to suspect being pg) my poop has been green. This NEVER happens to me. EVER. The first time it happened I didn't think anything of it but it's been going on for a few days now and I read that it's pretty common for pg women to experience this. I'm not taking any pre-natals (yet) and I've heard that it can just be the baby taking away nutrients, or the stool moving faster and not having time to turn brown. Has anyone else experienced this in early pregnancy? Does it sound like I could be pregnant? Thanks :)

So im still feeding my 11 month old and found out this week that im pregnant again

My problem is that in my last pregnancy I was taking aspirin due to two previous miscarriages. Noone seems to be able to tell me if it is safe to take this whilst breastfeeding. I haven't started taking it yet and am not seeing my gp till tuesday. I have rang the breastfeeding consultant at my hospital and she says that another option mite be better. The ante natal clinic at the hospital wont tell me one way or the other. Im scared that if I dont start it soon I'll miscarry again.

Does anyone have any experience or advice. Its a long shot but is there anyone out there who is in a similar position. :flower:

Had slight bleeding on 1/14. Stopped that night.Only pink and brown. Started bleeding again 1/24 and had a couple spots of bright red and two small clots but nothing other than a couple pink spots on my pad coming out. Mostly when I wipe. Had a little bit of cramping today and just almost feel like someone is snugly wrapped around my tummy.. Doctor says there is a good chance this is a really early viable pregnancy. I did have an ectopic in August but my numbers were really low and I started bleeding heavy and was in excruciating pain. I go in again on Monday for another HCG draw and then she wants to try to schedule a U/S again to try to find where baby is so then as long as baby where she is suppose to be (just hoping for a girl so I will refer to the baby as she haha) we will try progesterone suppositories.. Anyone have any similar situation?

I don't really feel this is the right place to post this, but I don't know where else to put it. But since I found some support from mom's who had been through the kidney problems with LO's here during pregnancy I figured I'd come back here. LO was diagnosed with a multicystic displastic kidney during pregnancy and now is 3 weeks old. Next week we will be going to children's hospital again for an u/s on the kidney and a VCUG. I am extremely worried about the VCUG as it sounds so painful and being so little I don't know how they will get her to hold still. I am afraid I'll have to sit there watching her cry in pain the whole time and if that's the case I may have to leave just OH in there with her as I don't want her to get more worked up from me crying too. I have read a little about the procedure but wanted to see if anyone has first hand experience?

Hi Ladies,

When I was diagnosed with low fluids at 25+5, I found comfort in searching the forum for related stories. Now that I'm nearly 38 weeks, I wanted to give an update.

At 25+5, I was put on bed rest for low fluid levels of 8cm. I was on "complete" bed rest - only allowed up/down the stairs once a day, had to spend 90% of my day laying on my left side, etc. In addition, I was drinking nearly a gallon of water a day.

A week later at 27wks, my waters had risen to 12cm! They left me on a second week of complete bed rest and heavy water consumption and at my follow-up appointment (28wks) my waters were 14cm.

After that I transitioned to partial bed rest (I was able to walk around a bit more, but still no chores or trips out of the house) and was checked at just shy of 14cm at my 29wk ultrasound. Only then was I released off bed rest.

Fast forward to 38 weeks and my pre-delivery ultrasound. I have kept up with massive amounts of water, but resumed normal activity (although no working out) and my waters are still at 11cm!! Doctor said there's no reason to be concerned about any problems resulting from my low fluids early in pregnancy.

I just wanted to share my outcome for any ladies that might be going through the uncertainty of low fluids. Hang in there and drink as much water as possible. There IS a good chance that everything will still go smoothly with due diligence. :hugs:

I've had no problems with any glucose in my urine, passed the 2 hour GTT, and then all of a sudden at my 32 week appointment today, there was 3+ glucose in my urine. They've never even detected trace amounts before. They did a finger-stick blood sugar at the appointment today which came back as 103 g/dL (normal for a non-fasting blood sample.)

My doctor just said to stop eating sweets and they will check my urine again in 2 weeks, but of course I'm concerned about the jump from none ever being detected to a sudden 3+ result.

Has anyone been through this, and what did your doctor or midwife say, how did it turn out? Did you have to retake the GTT? Were you diagnosed with gestational diabetes? Did it affect your pregnancy?

I would really like to hear from anyone who has tested 3+ or 4+ for sugar in the urine.

Hello I am new here I am 9 wks pregnant with my third child. I am hoping that anyone can alleviate some of my concerns of being kept on a low dose, 10 mg of prednisone during the rest of my pregnancy...I have connective tissue disease and was tapered from 60mg over the last 4 weeks due to the pregnancy and side effects. Have any of you been on prednisone during the pregnancy? My rheumatologist says that it is no big deal, just a potential for elevated blood sugar. However, my OB would like me on as low a dose as possible because of risk of premature mebrane rupture...Any advice?

Also I have a decreased level of protein S and due to PIH with my second child and had an emergency induction at 36wks due to very high blood pressure which they feared was becoming preeclampsia, I have been placed on baby aspirin and advised that I will need heparin injections post-partum...Has anyone experienced any of this or have any words of wisdom? I am seeing the perinatologist at 14 wks...
Thanks and sorry for the long first post!

Kind of just here to get some thoughts and see if there are others in my situation...

I had my Down's Syndrome screening tests on Wednesday and got a call on Thursday to say I am showing as high risk (1 in 100) because of high HCG levels and low PAPP-A levels. My nuchal measuremhent was fine.

I have no intention of getting a CVS or Amnio, as in my eyes, even a 1% chance of miscarriage is too high for me to want to risk.

Basically, I just wanted to know if anyone else here had levels like this and if there turned out to be any clear reasons why you were so high.

My results were:
Nuchal measurement 1.8mm : 1.00 MoM
Free B-HCG level 177.4 ng/mL : 8.39 MoM
PAPP-A level 1568 miu : 0.52 MoM

Any ideas?

Had my 20 wk scan and baby is healthy and fine however recieved a bit of a shock. The ultrasound tech said that i had a low lying anterior placenta. She didnt say anything else and said hopefully it should move up as bump grows.
However i came home and googled it and realised that there is a massive chance i could have serious complications as i have a previous c section scar and the placenta can grow into it!!:cry::cry:

Has anyone experienced this but found that the placenta moved off the scar without growing into it?:cry:

Basically I was admitted into hospital on monday with 2+ protein in my urine and high blood pressure of 148/90 when I usually run about 100/70... so after a night in the hospital my blood pressure came down and they said i could go home but to be prepared as i would develop pre-eclampsia at some point but i could go home and rest...
Anyway i have been having headaches, blured vision and pain under my right rib (really painful, going from my front to back) and swelling in my fingers and ancles however i tested my blood pressure multiple times and it has been normal? I think if i go to the hospital (over an hour away) they will monitor me for an hour and send me home so i dont know what to do as i have read if you do not have high blood pressure it cannot be pre-eclampsia?

Sorry this was so long!

Hope you all feel better than I am!
Thanks in advance!:flower:

Hello friends,

I just started having some bleeding/spotting (red not brown). So at 8 weeks my Doctor ran my levels and ordered a 2nd u/s. My progesterone level has dropped so he has started me on Progesterone pills today. At my first u/s (6 weeks, 6 days) the heart rate was 128, length was .87 cm.
The 2nd u/s (7 weeks, 6 days) heart rate was 131, length is 1.52 cm. I know the baby is growing well enough but I'm still concerned.
My progesterone level started out at 15 at 5 weeks. So I didn't start off low, it dropped.
Has anyone had a similar situation that either did or did not work out?

Thanks for sharing your stories!

Ok this will be knida long. :) I ovulated around 12-18 or 19 (we thought I ovulated a week earlier but looking at my charting we now know my dates were off) and we took a hpt on 12-22-11 and it was positive. We wound up doing beta tests due to some post intercourse spotting and on 1-1-12 my beta was 101. Fast forward to 1-17-12, we went to an ob appointment and he did an ultrasound and since lmp would have put me at over 7 weeks but the u/s showed me at 5 weeks. He wanted to do a D & C. I refused and wanted a second opinion ( hubby and I tried for 11 years for this). We were devastated! We called another ob who looked at his beta (which was done after his recommendation for a D & C). It was 3734. So the new ob sent me for another beta this morning and u/s. The beta was 5749 which is 39 hours after the 3734 one. The ultrasound showed nothing and also dated me at 5 weeks along. My beta is going up and I feel like this is a good sign but my new ob can't view the u/s till tomorrow but it seems that my beta and ultrasound are right on target with each other but maybe a bout a week off of my ovulation date. Any advice?

My husband and I have been TTC our second child since 2007. We are getting pregnant without treatment but seem to have the problem of keeping the babies. Brief pregnancy history and then a summary of what is going on with the pregnancy. Can anyone give me any hope?

2005 Normal pregnancy / delivered healthy boy
2007 Went into labor and delivered baby boy at 20 weeks. Sadly it was too early for him.
2008 Early miscarriage
2009 Early miscarriage
2010 Early miscarriage
2011/2012 Pregnant and not sure where this is headed…

My current pregnancy:

12/01/2011 Intercourse (Day 11 of cycle)
12/04 Inter course (Day 14 of cycle)
12/13 HPT - Negative (Day 23 )
12/16 HPT - Negative (Day 26 of cycle) spotting
12/17 HPT - Negative (Day 27) spotting
12/18 Light Flow (Day 1 of cycle)
12/19 Normal Flow
12/20 Normal / Light Flow
12/21 Light / End Period
12/27 HPT - Positive
12/28 HPT - Positive
12/29 HCG - 386
12/31 HCG - 486
01/02/2012 HCG 484
01/03 IV U/S elongated gestational sac (Day 17 of cycle)
01/09 HCG 600
01/10 IV U/S gestational sac disappeared (Day 24 of cycle) ( dr. said to prepare for a miscarriage. I opted to miscarry naturally)
01/17 HCG 1998 (Day 31 of cycle)
01/18 IV U/S small round sac detected in uterus (multiple ultrasounds to rule out ectopic pregnancy. Dr. said sac might be pseudo sac? asked me to come back in one week)

Was the initial sac seen on 01/03 a vanishing twin? Once that sac disappeared can a second sac start increasing HCG and/or start developing normally? Is my LMP considered 11/21 or on 12/18? I have not had nor do I have any cramps
or bleeding throughout this timeline. I have felt simply pregnant. My breast tenderness comes and goes. If I can go by 12/18 LMP it seems my dates and numbers are ok but if I must use 11/21 as LMP it seems less likely it would be viable. If I had not taken a HPT on 12/27 I would just now notice a missed period as I had 5 days of bleeding right on schedule for my period in December. But was that implantation bleeding? So so confused.
Does anyone think this pregnancy is viable based on the information I am able to provide? I am desperately holding on to any small percentage that a normal pregnancy will develop from here.

My wife is 38 y/o and pregnant. First Child. Was bleeding from week 11 until week 14 and stopped. now almost week 16. Everything with the baby is fine. Ultrasound, heartbeat, NT ultrasound, genetics, everything normal. She is normal body type, etc

Since about the same time the bleeding stopped, at week 14, her vagina has been hurting terribly. It started for a few days as the entire vagina, and now is near the top (closer to bellybutton). She can hardly walk, and is trying to be active by going to market, mall, walks, etc but it seems to make it worse. She can't even turn over in bed at night without having intense pain in her vagina.

It is not a bartholyn cyst as the doctor said that is on the other side. OBGYN checked her out two times, two weeks apart, with a VERY thorough examination inside and out and cannot find anything. The glands on left and right side of vagina near clitorus seem swollen to her and to me, one a little more than the other side, but doctor felt all that and again said it is completely normal.

Ice seems to give some relief. OBGYN gave codeine she doesn't want to use it because of potential harm to fetus.

Has anyone had a similar experience, and if so, can you provide solutions? as earlier stated, the doctor said everything appears normal and has no solution... does anyone know what this terrible pain is being caused by? Thank you in advance for any useful responses.

Hi,

My wife and I have been having several difficulties with our pregnancy and we were wondering if you had any imput or advice.

We first found many risk factors for a chromo abnormality. We took the CVS test and found that there was no Chomo abnormalities. So, that is good.

Here is what we are dealing with now:

As of week 18, the specialists have found:
-Possibly an enlarged bladder. Now thinking it might not be the bladder since it sits off to the side where the bladder shouldn't be. He said it puzzles him and that it might be something with the bowels/intestines, but not sure yet.

-Limbs are a few weeks behind

-Possible heart defect, going to see Cardiologist next week

-Curved Spine

Has anyone had similar problems to this? They are looking into different gentic possibilities, but can't put a finger on what is going on right now. Has anyone gone through this? Anyone that has had anything similar, please PM me or reply. We appreciate it. Thanks.

Hello,

...

Hello,

I guess I'm looking for anyone who has any info or experience with chromosome abnormalities or has been through a similar experience.

Basically I've had at least 3 MC's all around 6 weeks in the past 18 months since we started TTC after our wedding.
In October time we were referred to a specialist to discuss my miscarriages and some blood was taken to check for chromosome abnormalities from myself and my DH. At the same appointment we also found out I was pregnant! Which was a shock as we had stopped TTC.

Anyway, the specialist started me on weekly HCG Pregnyl Injections until 11 weeks. Amazingly we got past the dreaded 6 week mark and I am still pregnant now at nearly 14 weeks. Yey!

I've had my NT scan and bloods done last week, the NT measurement was good but we are still waiting on our combined results risk ratio...I'm hoping no news is good news on this occasion.

Anyway, during all this we received a letter from my specialist saying she had the results for the chromosome testing, whilst I was fine, DH had a 'slight' chromosome abnormality, which may be the cause of our losses.

Now next Tuesday we have to go see a genetic councillor to discuss the results and any implications on future fertility and this current pregnancy.

What I guess I'm wanting to know from anyone with any experience with chromosome abnormalities is can I still have a normal child if my husband has an abnormality? I don't know anymore than them saying 'slight abnormality'...is that even possible.

I know I'll probably find out all the answers to my questions next tuesday but it just scares me because I find this all out whilst being pregnant and it's the only pregnancy that has got this far...I feel like now all the excitment has been ripped away and the massive worry has kicked in again :nope:

I have had such a hard time with my midwife and hospital over GBS. In early pregnancy 8 weeks the near by hospital took some swabs and a few months later sent me out a letter telling me they had found gbs, I went to see my midwife who has not turned up to my appointments and I have had to see the other midwife. I told her about the gbs and they said I would need anti biotics while in labour. I was upset with this as I had my heart set on a water birth, but made my peace with it for my baby, as I would only want whats best for her. I recently went into my hospital after losing some fluid and they also did swabs and it came back gbs clear. I rang the other hospital and they said the swabs were mixed up at their end and the wrong letter sent out!:growlmad: I never had gbs.

I now have a load of info to tell my midwife when I eventually see her to try and sort this out, I rang my hospital and asked what I can do and they said because its on the system as being detected I would still need the antibiotics? surely this cannot be right? if the other hospital messed up my swabs and ive had a recent swab saying im all clear? I don't want to have unnecessary antibiotics as surely it cannot be good for baby unless there is a problem that it could solve.

So stressed about it, I saw the other midwife again today due to mine being absent again. She said theres plenty of time to sort it and it sounds like I can have my water birth, yet the hospital is saying no way. I wish this could just get sorted so I could relax and know whats happening.

Hi all,

I'm new to this site, but have been reading over the forums for the past few weeks. (I hope I have posted this in the correct place, please forgive me if i've mad a mistake)

In December I discovered I was pregnant. Because I am still BF my youngest (21 months), i had no idea how far along I was, as I haven't really had a proper period since having him.

On boxing day I had some spotting, so I decided to vist my local A&E. As it was boxing day, the EPU clinic was closed, but I was examined by a doctor and told me my cervix was still closed, and to go home and relax. They scheduled a scan for me on the Friday (30th Dec).

On scan day, (transvaginal, cos nothing could be seen by scanning across my abdomen) I was told only a gest and yolk sac could be seen, and also some bleeding (sch) on the outside of the sac (which i'm familiar with, as I've experienced this before in a past pregnancy, and he's now a healthy 8 yr old!).
The sonographer wasn't the most friendly person, and she told me, she couldn't say any more and to go home and come back in a week.

After a week of worrying, and bleeding getting heavier (no clots,), I had my follow up scan on the 6th Jan, and the same tech said she could now see fetal pole, with a very faint heartbeat. She then rescheduled another appt (1 week).

I went back on Friday (13th), and she then said (same tech) she couldn't find a heartbeat, and to wait for a miscarriage to occur. I was measuring 6 weeks.

Maybe i'm clucthing at straws, but I've been reading up on so many of your stories, and found, that a heartbeat is not always detectable at this stage.(although she saw a flicker one week earlier). I was also wondering if maybe the bleed in my uterus could be obstructing the scan, and giving a false image? Maybe it's just false hope.

I have not been offered another scan, and they have booked me in for a D&C on Wed (18th Jan).

Do you think I should get a 2nd opinion, or pay for a private scan, just for my own peace of mind? Has this happened to anyone here, and gone on to have a healthy baby?

I have prepared myself for the worst (have done since my initial scan), but if theres still an inkling of hope, I will always have doubts..

I'm not in pain, no bleeding (since the SCH bleed), and no clots etc, i'm still feeling very much preganant.

Btw - sorry for the long post, but I really do not know where to seek any advice.

xxx

I was booked in for a section with ds because he was transvere lie, i was told i have a bicorunate (heart shaped) uterus and was told because of the shape of it he would not be able to go head down so a section would be my only option. I was booked in for 40 wks but it was moved to 39wks due to hight blood pressure and protein but my waters went at 38wks so i had a emergency section.
What im wondering is will that happen again this time? Are there any ladies out there with a heart shaped uterus that have ever had natural or did the same thing happen?
Hope someone can helpl :hugs:
Thanks xx

anyone have to have hemorrhoid surgery for removal? if so, what'd you have done? How was your recovery time?
I have an appt with a colorectal surgeon monday hoping he can do SOMETHING for relief of the pain. I got thrombosed ones a week ago and got referred to him. I've not had ANY problems during pregnancy and have never had them before.. so going from none, to the pain of thrombosed hemorrhoids is just utterly miserable! He said it needed taken care of whether I'm pregnant or not, so hoping the sooner the better I can get some relief.
Just wanted to see your experiences.

Hi,
I am feeling really isolated and cannot find anyone who is in the same situation as me. Please help.
I am 17 weeks pregnant and i had on and off very light spotting for the first 12 weeks of pregnancy. I went to the doctors and got an ultrasound done which showed that evrything was fin and the doctor said this can be normal.

Then at 13 weeks i was on the toilet straining and i had a big gush of blood, i went straight to the emergency room only to find out that again the baby was fine. After this every bowel movement i had i did get a small trickle of blood but that was it.

When i reached 15 weeks one day i just started to bleed bright red very light for the first day but then following that it was moderate to heavy. I get HUGE clots and sometimes soak up to 4 pads in the night and the same amount during the day.
I have been to the hospital, seen a midwife, a doctor and an obstetrician privately. All of them say the same thing.. BEDREST.

I have had 6 ultrasounds so far the placenta is fine, the cervix is closed the baby is the right size but i cannot understand why no doctor can tell me WHY i am bleeding and bleeding so heavy! Im constantly worried and all i can do is lay in bed and bleed..

Has anyone else had this? did it stop? and was the baby born full term and at a healthy weight? I am so worried but trying to relax at least the baby if fine for now but i really want some answers.

Hi I lost my beautiful baby girl in July at 36 weeks pregnant due to complete placenta abruption. Up until that horrific morning everything was going well and I did not have any tell tale signs that anything was up. Thought I was going into labour and as I was about to leave the house I felt a gush and thought this was my waters, when I looked it was a pool of blood. I went on to deliver my girl 8 hours later. I have recently found out I am pregnant again, I'm very very early on, 5 weeks. I have already had scan and sac is where it should be going for another at 7 weeks. I am absolutely petrified and constantly paranoid. I'm not even sure if I'm going to get a healthy crying baby out of this and can't get excited even though I'm pleased. Has anybody else been in a similar situation regarding abruption and pregnant again? What type of screening etc did you have in your next pregnancy? I am going to b monitored closley but i know this can't b prevented. I've been put on baby asprin too. I'm just so scared xx

i had ICP with my first pregnancy was hospitalised for 3 weeks at 31 weeks
pregnant as my lft and bile acid levels were so high, given steroids, urso and
vit k until i was induced at 37 weeks and now have a healthy 10 month old.
I cant remember exactly when i started itching in my first pregnancy but it was
in the second tri but i just put it down to pregnancy symptoms. it was only when
i had a appointment with a midwife who saw me constantly itching my palms and
told me about icp symptoms that i realised i might have it.
anyway my question is how soon can ICP start i am now 9 weeks pregnant with my
second and at night can not stop itching i am waking up in the night itching and
cant get to sleep with it. it feels exactly as before: heated, tingly, itchy
palms, feet and limbs. sometimes i feel like its in my head because the dr said
it cant be its too early for icp but then i see scratch marks on my arms and
legs and nearly crying at night with that uncomfatable feeling and think it must
be!
I have a blood test booked in 3 weeks time but i wanted opinions, advice or
experiances of icp this early on in 2nd pregnancys.
I am worried if i leave it i will be hospitalised again something that cant
happen as i have to be at home to look after my son.

thank u for taking the time to read this and would really appreciate any advice

Hi All

I am currently pregnant with my fourth baby and am freaking out a little bit as with my last daughter i had a fairly massive pph ( about 3000ish ml i think?!)
I had to have 4 unit blood transfusion and was taken to theatre to stop the bleeding.
This was attributed to her being a large baby (9lb 12oz) and carrying a lot of fluid. This led to an atonic uterus ( uterus not contracting after birth)

This was 8 years ago and i am obviously a bit worried about the chances of this occurring again, and just wondered if any of you lovely ladies had any experiences that you could share with me. Thanks so much xxx

i'm 22wks and i have pulmonary hypertension that has progressively gotten worse. my doctors told me that this type of heart disease is the worst thing a woman could have during pregnancy... only a 50% mortality rate. the heart can't handle delivery whether it's vaginal or c-section. 2 weeks ago they asked me to terminate the pregnancy. i said no... absolutely not. this is me taking a bullet for my child. just because this child is still inside and not out here making noises doesn't mean he's just a piece of garbage that can be disposed of. i feel and see him moving/kicking all day long... he has a name. he was desperately wanted before 22wks ago and he's desperately wanted now. i can't let go of that. i know i made the right decision but i'm terrified.

Hi,
Since getting I had bleeding on a weekly basis from 5 weeks of pregnancy. I had to go to the EPAU and they confirmed all was OK but that my baby had implanted low in my uterus, just above the cervix. Unfortunately, at 10 weeks of pregnancy my waters broke and I lost my son.

This is the second time this has happened, the first time at 15 weeks. The hospital keeps telling me that I need to experience another miscarriage before they will look into why this keeps happening. I don't think they truly realise how emotional it is losing not one but two babies.

Has anyone experienced this and if so, have they been given an explanation as to why it happens. I want to try again, but am so worried it will happen again.

I look forward to anyones comments.

Thanks

I have had spotting on and off through out this pregnancy ( at 5 weeks, at 7 weeks, at 8 weeks, and then at 11 weeks I had more spotting with pinkish tissue or clots which happened again at 12 weeks.) I am now on bed rest for the next 2 weeks. The Doctors are not sure what is causing my symptoms. They said it could be a relapse from getting off progesterone, or it could be that the placenta is pulling away from the uterus a little. Either way I am going insane. As if I was not sick with worry before all of this, I am now worried that they are so worried. I keep thinking if they really thought everything would be ok, they would not be so strict. They marked "totally incapacitated" on my note for work!
Has anyone been on bed rest and had everything turn out ok? Do you have any ideas on what could be causing the spotting? I have twinges and nerve like pains here and there but nothing that doubles me over. Does anyone have ideas as to what I can do instead of worry? How I can pass the time? I will take anything!

Thanks

Hi ladies!! I went to my peri on yesterday and discovered that my cervix has shortened from 3.0 to 1.9 within the last three weeks!! I had an elective cerclage placed at thirteen weeks due to IC and two previous losses and I'm now at twenty weeks. There is no funneling, but he gave me two options 1) doing another cerclage or 2) taking progresterone injections and motrin every eight hours.... he never mentioned exactly why he wanted to do another cerclage other than the shortening nor did he mentioned doing a different type and honestly hubby and I weren't thinking to ask him because in addition to the shortening he also mentioned some concerns about fluids being built up in the baby's kidneys....anyway I go back on Monday to see if the injections and bed rest have helped, if not he wants to do the second cerclage on Tuesday....I'm just not sure on the purpose of doing a second one especially with the risks (AND PAIN) but of course will go through it to save my daughter....I see my regular OB on Friday and hope to get his opinion.....just wondering if any one else has been through this!!

I went for my 20 week scan yesterday and was told that a small area of fluid was found on babys brain and this is 'normal' but in my case its abit more to the front of the head than its supposed to. They've arranged for me to go back on Monday for anothe scan.

Has anyone had the same experience, etc.
I have all sorts running throught my mind & just don't know what to think :(

Hi All

So, i am over 15 weeks along and 25 years old. I had a booking-in appointment at which my blood pressure was normal. Since then, i've been prescribed 75mg per day aspirin as they said I'm at risk of hypertension (which I assume is because i have quite a high BMI).

So, none of this is ideal but, being already pregnant, I can't go about dramatic weight loss right now. So, can anyone recommend the best ways to keep my BP down nice and normal as much as i can to avoid pregnancy complications?

xx

I've posted this in 2nd tri but thought I'd post here too incase hope this Is ok :)

My dr has recommend we have one due to our baby girl being diagnosed with a heart condition to rule out any other abnormalities, however I have the following against me- my cervix is already slightly open, I am rheusus negative blood group, & I have strong history of pre term labour.

I personally don't want to take the risk of having it but OH is adamant he wants it done, as he wants make aure there is nothing else wrong with our baby girl...so am considering it keep him happy

Has anyone had an amnio? What was your experience during & after etc? I'm absolutely crapping myself I don't want to lose our lil girl from this
