My LO was STTN from just after 4 months but the last week he has been waking a lot at night and the only thing that will send him back off properly is a bottle, I don't know what going wrong. He has always been really bad with milk to the point that we had to stay in hospital as he wasn't drinking but now it's the opposite, god I sound like a right moaner :-( but has anyone for ant tips?? This is what he's had today...

4am 9ozs
8am porridge with 3ozs milk
10am 9ozs
12md half a jar and a petit filous
2pm 7ozs
4pm veg puree with 2ozs milk mixed in and a fruit pot
6.30pm 6ozs

Is this ok?? It seems like alot to me as everything I've read says 18-21ozs for a weaning baby and he's had 36ozs today 38ozs yesterday.
Surely it's enough fir him?? So why's he waking at night for milk? I know he's hungry as nothing else will settle him

Thanks in advance! X

:hi:

Looking for some advice/help my little boy is just over 6 months and has reflux we started weening a few weeks ago giving him baby rice and veg purees its been a bit haphazard but I try to give him something in the morning then around lunch time/afternoon.

Been back to the drs today and she advised us to increase his solids whats the best way to go about this do I introduce an evening meal and can he have what we're eating or should I continue with just veg purees?

Tonight we are having meatballs with mash and carrots could a blitz up a little of that for him to have as an evening meal. Hes got sweet potato to have for lunch. Is he allowed meat yet?

Do you think this is normal when you introduce foods and they stop just having just milk?
Is there anything I should be giving him to help with this?

We have started weaning a week ago with a mixture of puree and finger foods from the start. My LO does not like being fed with a spoon! I suppose I always liked the idea of BLW, but somehow it seems a lot more scary!
So I have taken the plunge and only give her fruit and veg in finger food format...BUT I have some questions, please help!

1. So I am torn about mixed messages 'food is fun until one' and 'after 6 months babies need extra nutrients and iron is depleting'. Which one is true? I am paranoid about her not being able to have a varied diet, I am a bit clueless about what to give her and when with BLW.

2. With TW, there is a strong sense of a schedule and introducing certain food at certain times. I am not sure how it works with BLW? I am only giving her fruit and veg at the mo, when can I try meat and other stuff (we are holding off with dairy for the moment, I BF and I am on dairy free diet).

3. I am giving her 2 meals a day, should I try 3 meals a day? She doesn't seem to be starving, iykwim.

4. Going out...what do you do? Shall I just delay lunch and give her a milk feed when out and about?

5. I have read that babies should be joining us at mealtimes, but my DH comes home very late and we usually have late dinner. What do I do?

Any thoughts/comments/experiences would be much appreciated!! :hugs::hugs:

he has 2 decent meals a day (gets up too late for breakfast and i couldnt fit it all in otherwise lol)
he wont eat purees of any sort including weetabix and yogurts, so he feeds himself what he wants, so he must be full.
does he have to be dropping these bottles by the time hes 1? should i be starting to give more food instead
i guess a toddler shouldnt be sat cradled having a bottle lol

Hi,

Hi,

I could really use some advice on feeding my little one.

As a newborn he had chronic reflux and has always been a sicky baby until we started using carobel in his milk which helped a lot. We then went onto weaning which he took to very quickly. He was eating vegetable purees every day and loving everything we gave him. We tried a few times with finger foods such as toast and biscottis however he choked on them so we waited a week or so before trying again. Hes still not too good with finger foods although we are persisting and hes slowly getting better.

The problem is that 10 weeks ago he got a sickness bug which left him projectile vomiting everything he ate and drank. Since then he has become a nightmare at mealtimes. He wont eat anything that he ate before and currently lives off the same two heinz box meals (cheesy vegetable pasta and vegetables with chicken).

He will quite happily have porridge and weetabix in the morning but anything else he just vomits before hes even eaten it. I know hes hungry as he opens his mouth for it but once its in his mouth he gags then vomits everywhere. We've gone right back to basics and tried him with basic purees again but he just wont take to it at all. Im just scared that if we constantly keep trying him with different foods, he'll keep on vomiting and develop even more of a reluctance to eat.

I know heinz wouldnt make these meals if they didnt have any nutritional value in them however its so frustrating as hes always ate really well.

When hes at nursery he eats anything they put in front of him so i think it could be the setting at home with which he associates being poorly. We've tried moving his high chair into another room, letting him play with his food so he can eat at his leisure and get to know textures again but hes just not interested.

Has anyone else had this problem as we are losing the will to live now. People have said that we need to remain calm and relaxed at mealtimes however its now proving rather stressful and getting us both down.

Any advice would be much appreciated :)
x

I ask because the baby has started taking a later nap around the time we usually have our tea. If I wait until afterwards it's only about an hour until she's in bed.

Hi everyone

So my little girl is 11 months this week and has the following eating pattern

Breakfast 9.30am - maybe eats a banana or a weetabix/cheerios and perhaps a yog.

Bottle 11-11.30 7oz ( doesn't always drink all)

Lunch - 1 -1.30 - maybe a sandwich or cheese on toast or something followed by fruit and maybe some finger veg.

Bottle 3-.3.30 - 7oz (doesn't always drink all)

Dinner 5 - 5.30

Bottle and Bed 7pm and maybe another half bottle 1/2 hr after shes gone to sleep.

I'm a bit worried about the amount of formula shes guzzling at her age. She seems to eat well and will happily drink water from her sippy cup with meals and throughout the day.

I know your not supposed to give formula after 12 months so i'm a bit confused as to what to do since she seems to like it still so much!! Do I half and half with cows milk on all of her bottles for a couple of weeks until the formulas gone. Do i replace say the afternoon bottle with a sippy cup of warm cows milk?

Should I be dropping just the formula or the bottles too? and should i be replacing them with sippy cups?!

Just when I think i'm starting to 'get it' theres another thing for me to be confused about!!:dohh:

My little boy has tried a few things like cooked carrot sticks, broccoli, sweet potato and other simple veg. He has an amazing pincer grip but I wouldn't say he is actually eating much at all more playing with it and mashing it!

I understood that BLW was very much self feeding and having pretty much what we ate - is that really right or have I got that wrong? Surely they can't really have what we have though? E.g I made a sweet potato and lentil curry last night which is why I gave him some sweet potato.

Also, should I be worried about the amount of solid foods he is eating or not eating?

All my friends are TW and are saying about allergies if they dont eat certain things by a certain age?? Is this true?

He loves toast but I'm worried he could choke on this???

Are there some things that they shouldn't eat? I know about honey not being allowed. Are they allowed any spreads?

I thought it was 6 months, and don't BLW'ers do most any food after 6 months aside from the obvious no nos like honey? I make her food, and I wanted to add blueberries into the apples instead of just introducing them plain (I already know she is good with apples, butternut squash, green beans, sweet potato yellow squash and avocado) just enough to give it a different flavor. Maybe like 5 parts apple, one part blueberry steamed and pureed.

I came online to check out different things people do with blueberries and it says 8 months or a year? If it's not a true berry, and isn't as allergenic as strawberries, why? I was going to make them this week to start next week on her 6 month "birthday"

When did you give them?

(FWIW there are no food allergies on my side of the family, and DH's mom just has a gluten intolerance)

OK I'm almost getting the hang of this weaning thing, decided which route to take and how to start etc but just a few questions left!! Sophie is just over 5 months and breastfed.
Do I need to sterilise all equipment like bowls, spoons, blender etc?

Does she need to drink water?

Does it need to be boiled first?

What do i add to her baby rice, breast milk or water? If water do I boil it first? If cows milk is it full fat?

Can I start by giving baby rice in the morning after her feed and purée after lunch? Does that sound ok?

Do I need to add water to purée fruit and veg?

Hello

This is a bit of a rant really so I apologise but I really just want reassurance from those who are or have successfully done BLW. My little girl is 5 months and has just started showing an interest in food so we eat as soon as my husband gets home and sit LO at the table with us. So far she's held and played with (swallowing very little) of banana, nectarine, avocado, pepper, carrot etc.

Having read the book I know that she is still getting nutritionally everything she needs from her milk (she has been on Aptamil First milk since 4 weeks old) but my parents are making me feel as though I'm starving her. I am fed up with the constant criticism about how she should be on cereal, rice, that I should be pureeing everything and feeding her like 'normal' people. This isn't meant as a debate between BLW and TW. All my friends are doing TW, but BLW appealed to us and this is the route we've chosen to go down.

I just wanted to ask for advice really on how to deal with the nasty comments, reassurance that my daughter isn't 'starving' and to ask when is the point in which you do worry about how little solids they're taking? I do realise it's not at 5/6 months. Already I have seen an amazing transformation in eye hand coordination over a few weeks and she seems to really be enjoying it. I'm just struggling as an over sensitive tired Mummy.

Thanks in advance! X

Madison can be quite fussy with foods and particularly with trying new foods. Atm her lunches are mainly sandwiches or toast with different fillings like ham, cheese spread, chicken etc but I'm worried about her getting bread everyday isn't very good for her plus I don't want her to be limited to just those and never trying anything new at all!

Some of the things I've tried that she refused to eat and sometimes refused to even taste that I can think of :dohh:

Scrambled Eggs
Boiled Eggs mashed up
Chicken Soup
Pasta

Snacks she won't eat or try
Grapes
Cheese
Apple
Pear
She will eat banana & raisins sometimes

She used to love pancakes but has went off them, I may try them again but then again it's more bread.

ran out of ideas, I'm not very good at lunches! Hate wasting food too when she won't eat it.

Anna eats what we eat really and I make my own meals most nights but on the nights we have a hot curry or take a way she will eat shop bought fish fingers and about 2 oven chips. She only has these when her older brothers and sister do. I know about the salt content so she doesn't have more then one and half of that will get thrown. Tonight because I had battered fish( birds eye) she had one chicken finger and steamed veg, this was a lot less salt then what the fish was. She's 10 months now and will not really eat savoury jars so she is just eating our food broken up into pieces , she has started to hate being spoonfed as well. She has a love of breadsticks at the minute, anyone else the same? I feel like she's not eating loads, her breakfast always gets eaten, her dinner time meal will half get thrown and the same with her tea, she does have a few snacks throughout the day and 4 6oz bottles. suppose I'm just after some reassurance that one I'm not bad for feeding her this food sometimes and two I'm not starving her.

Hi

I have a 21 week old baby who is still on all milk. Our routine is a 7 oz bottle at these times - 7 to 7.30am, 11am, 3pm, 6.30pm and a dream feed at 10.30pm. Basically how do we start weaning fitting in these times? Do I go down the six month weaning plan or the five month plan given that my bub is nearly 22 weeks? There is so much info out there and I am confused :/

We go out and about every day so how did you manage to fit in mealtimes and bottles?

Thanks for any tips,

I am trying to decide which milk to feed my baby. He is BF but during the day at nursery he likes to have a bottle of milk. I have been giving him Kara but his dietician said perhaps Oat milk would be better? However having looked I see Oat milk has more calories but Kara has more fat.

What do you think? He is still BF the rest of the time.

LO has been showing all signs of being ready for solid food for a week or so including chewing along with us when we eat, so we decided to try some pureed carrot this weekend.

He looked like he was eating lemons. He had about 3 little tips of the spoon worth before he bougt it all back up, followed by two hour old milk.

We tried again the next day and he started pulling faces as soon as he saw the spoon and really didn't want anything.

He's still seems really interested in our food. He absolutly loved drinking water from the beaker.

Do you think its best to wait a week and try with baby rice as it would taste a lot more like his milk?

Lo's poos have become a lot thicker (like chunky peanut butter) I know that she should get water from my breastmilk but should I still give her some water aswell. If so how much?

When can you start giving cheese? Either proper cheese or cheese spread?
My LO started weaning at 4months and is now having the following:
Breakfast- porridge
Lunch time- a piece of fruit
Tea time- half a jar and half a pudding (because he gets bored if he has a full jar!)

And obviously his bottles too.

Im wanting to bring in new things now. He sometimes has veg instead of a jar at tea time. Was just wondering when i can give things like cheese? And pasta? Oh and also, i have given him toast at breakfast as well once or twice but felt really bad about it because i dont know if i should be.

Hi

Atm my LO has a main meal at lunch ie hot 7month jar or homemade puree and half a fruit pot then has something like cheese on toast, fruit, finger foods in the evening.

I'm just wondering whether I should be giving her 2 hot meals a day or stick to what we're doing?

What other things could I give her for dinner....I've done toast, sweetcorn fritters mainly.....I'm lost for what to give her as finger foods!

I haven't started weaning my LO yet but will be doing so in the next few weeks. I had a really bad dairy allergy when I was little, even a tiny amount made me violently sick, wheezy, hives etc. My LO is exclusively bf so has not had dairy yet, but I am really worried that she will have an alergy like I did. Should I avoid giving dairy to LO? I was thinking of continuing to bf until 1 and using expressed milk for her baby cereal ect, but I dont know what to do for the best. Anyone else been in this position?

Hiya ,

Im a first time mum so im reading up on everything and you know how it is when websites exaggerate about things ive read babys need there baby milk up to the age of one but ive weaned my daughter and she now has breakfast , dinner , tea and her supper before bed. She cut down to one bottle before bed but past few days shes not wanted it and tonight she wouldnt drink it at all. I dont want to force her to have it if she doesnt want it and shes getting plenty fluids with juice and water through the day but as its my first time im bothered about doin anything wrong. Ive read some people saying they started giving there babies 2 or 3 ounce of cows milk between 9 and 10 months to introduce them to it but then read on websites that it can cause loads of problems with there stomach. Im just confused should I carry on with just food an juice or make her have the bottle ?? xxx

Hi this is going to be long but I really need some advice and hope some one can help.

My DS is nearly 8 months old and when he was born my loving, caring and supportive husband changed compleatly. I was brought into hospital to be induced but the babys heartbeat was dropping dramatically so I had an emercency c-section. The babys umbilical cord was round his neck, he had pooed inside me and my placenta had stopped working. It all happened really quick I arrived at the hospital at 2pm and was in theatre by 2:45. The midwives said I was really lucky as I was supposed to be brought in on the Sunday but they phoned me and asked me to come in a day early. They said if I had gone in on the Sunday we wouldn't be bringing a baby home with us.

I was in hospital for 4 days after having our son and my husband only visited once and that was begrudgingly. I was in a lot of pain from the c-section but he never helped, he wouldn't feed him or change his nappy and went out to the pub alot often staying out all night where as before the baby he rarely went out. He became very critical of me, would start arguments and shout at me infront of the baby. When the baby was 6 weeks old I came home from visiting my Mums and he had packed his bags and said he was moving out and didn't want to see me or the baby ever again. He stayed gone for 2 weeks and didn't phone me or accept my calls. I was devastated as this should have been the happiest time of my life and although I felt so happy and lucky to have my son I felt as though I had gained a son and lost my husband.

He came back after 2 weeks and apologized and explained himself. He said the way our son had been born had really affected him. He was really scared that I was going to die and he blamed our son for putting me at risk. He said he didn't bond with the baby and he was jealous that the baby had all my attention. He also said he was jealous that he could see how much I had bonded with him and loved him and he wanted to feel the same and didn't and felt like a failure and thats why he moved out because he felt he wasn't good enough to be a Dad and that we would be better off without him.

We agreed to try again and he has had counselling to talk through his feelings. Since then he has been an amazing father. He loves DS so much, plays with him, feeds and changes him and is back to being the person I fell in love with. The problem is I cant seem to get over it. Every time he does anything for our son I feel angry that he wasn't here when i needed him most so why is he bothering now. Im constantly having sly digs at him and keep bringing up how he walked out on his baby. Last night he broke down and cried. He says hes ashamed of the way he treated me and loves me and DS but that i cant keep treating him like this as he feels as though I hate him. In a way hes right i do hate him for what he did. When I look back to photos of DS when he was a few weeks old it reminds me of how hurt i was at the time. Hes taken away those special moments and I don't know how to get over it. I really do love him hes an amazing Husband and father and I want us to be a happy family but I know it wont work if I keep bringing this up.

I hope I haven't bored you all with my essay but I need to know how do I move on and what would you do?

I am not sure we are getting this weaning thing right! Archie is on 3 meals a day, but is still up every hour of the night. He's not greedy, but just doesn't seem to be getting enough!

Yesterday's was this:
6.30 am - 4 oz milk (offered 8 oz)
9 am - small bowl of porridge, followed by natural yoghurt and puréed strawberry, apple and pear
11 am - 6 oz milk
12 - 2 pm - nap
2 pm - 4 oz milk, beef stew leftovers
5 pm - fillet of haddock, sweet potato and baby pasta, followed by yogurt and fruit
7 pm - bath, 4 oz milk (offered 8 oz) then bed
10 pm - 4 oz milk
11.30 pm - awake
12.30 am - 2 oz milk
1.30 am - awake
2.30 am - 2 oz milk
And so the night goes like that every hour!

What am I doing wrong?

Weaning has been going really well and LO is happily downing thicker purees now. I think it might be time to move on to stage 2 but I'm a bit confused as to where to go from here. Is it better to try finger foods or lumpy purees next? I think the Annabel Karmel book recommends finger foods as a next step, but I was thinking of maybe adding some baby pasta to LO's purees and see how she gets on with it. How did you all manage stage 2?

Also, all the stage 2 products I see in the shops have 7 months plus listed on them, is that just a recommendation? Caroline isn't far off but I just wondered. :)

Cadence will be 6 months old in about a week, she is inhaling an insane amount of formula. All the moms I know besides myself are breast feeding.

Its 5pm here, and currently Cadence has already downed her 32oz of formula in the pitcher and one made bottle of 6oz. She will be wanting another bottle about 6 and then I will be giving her another about 730 before bedtime (her bedtime feeding is not an "on demand" feed, it's just one last "however much she will take" bottle before we put her down for the night. She sometimes finishes a 6oz bottle, sometimes just a few oz before she is too tired)

This puts her on track to drink between 44-50oz just today!

For her solids "breakfast" (10am) she had about 1oz of mango/apple home made puree. Lunch-ish solid feed about 2pm she had 1.5 oz of avocados and apples.

This is a LOT of formula, am I not feeding her enough solids? She has her 6 month shots/checkup in just over a week and I will definitely mention it to him, but it seems that sometimes you guys know a little more about baby nutrition than her doc anyway. What do you think? More solids or is that amount of formula normal?

My 8 month old boy is really struggling with lumpy food jars. He has toast or waffles or porridge and fruit for brekky and happily eats it himself, then lunch he has a sandwich and baby corn snacks, biscotti, smooth yoghurt, fruit and other bits depending on the day of week then tea i would like to be able to sometimes give him a jar or my own homemade lumpy food but just as soon as it goes in his mouth he spits it out and doesnt trust me again to put spoon near his mouth. I have been persistent with it and try at least once a day but he isnt getting used to it for aprox 1 month now. He is that fussy with it sometimes if hes still got bits of bread/ whole food in his mouth and he has a mouthful of yoghurt he will spit it straight out thinking its lumpy food as the two textures mix. Any advice or help would be great. Thanks all

I've had my weaning talk from my hv's and they are very pro BLW which seems to make sense to me.

But I've just been doing some reading on the NHS start4life site http://www.nhs.uk/start4life/pages/taste-for-life.aspx which says to try baby rice, fruit and veg first. But my hv said anything except for whole nuts and honey. Do I start her on veg first or just give her whatever we're having as long as its not salty or sugary (which is the line my HV kept using).

Am I over thinking this?!? Just seems that this is a main NHS campaign contradicting BLW advice. Babyrice just seems a bit of a nutritional non entity and I am surprised to see it on there.

Can I start her on toast? She's 5.5 months - will be starting at 6 months probably, although she is a pretty hungry monkey now!

ETA - sorry just realised this is a load of ramble-hope you can understand what I actually mean!

I put some puree on wholemeal toast this evening, and she loved it! What else can I put purees on/in, as I don't want her having bread every day?

Also, she won't eat chicken pureed.. If I give her strips of chicken, how big shall I make them, and can I do them the night before and leave them in the fridge?

If I'm out and about and want to give her toast and puree, can I just bring the toast in some tin foil and do it like that?

Is there anything that can stay in the fridge for a few days and I can just get out and heat up?

Heeeeelp!!!

Hi, I originally posted this in formula feeding section, but in hindsight may be more related to this section.

My DD just turned 12 months. I’m keeping her on formula as she’s still small & doesn’t have gr8 appetite for solids. She still takes about 500ml of formula daily. I’m worried this might be too much, but don’t want to drop it down drastically until she has a better solid food intake.

My question is, how much milk/formula should a child take from 12 months. C&G cartons say 300ml per day; SMA says 500ml; Aptamil says 300ml on the powdered growing up milk, but 500ml on the pre-made bottles of the same stuff - help please!! I'm totally confused. I haven’t been able to find any NHS guidelines on this?? Thanks x

My LO is five months old and has been for a while now showing signs hes ready for solids. He can hold his heade, sit nicely in his highchair, he reaches out for food, and mimics chewing motioins when we eat.

I started him on baby rice for breakfast and then gradually introduced tea which was either purred veg or baby jars. He loves it and would happily take 5-10+ spoonfuls at a sitting.

For a week he has had an upset tummy and diarreah exploding out of his nappy after every feed and sometimes a little inbetween. He hasnt had any solids now for at least 5 days and its still happening but gradually dying down (I think)

Is this due to his change in diet and just getting used to things? Or is he having too much at each sitting? Or picking up bugs from spoon and bowl which hasnt been sterilized? Or is it something different?

Anyone else had experiences of this? Once its died down i will try again slowly and see if it re occours and then i'll know for sure.

Hiya there ladies!

There's a new website out now called Mayhem In The Kitchen. It was started by myself and the other moms of the Mayhem Babies of 2011 as a way to share recipes. Most of the recipes are baby-friendly (If they're not, that will be specified), and there will be some that are baby-specific. So, if you're looking for new, delicious and nutritious meal ideas for your family that are easily pureed for baby, come check it out.

It's still under construction, needing pictures and constantly adding new recipes, but there are a few up now. There's a baby-specific recipe for Teething Biscuits that are egg and wheat free. This recipe will be featured as our Recipe of the Month for February, so give it a try, tweak it, critique it, photograph it and submit it!

Also, we're looking for models for our site, so if you have any messy-baby pictures that you'd like to submit, that would be great too!

Here's the site if you are interested in checking it out.

On the days LO has a weetabix (1 weetabix w/ 3oz milk) for breakfast he doesn't want his afternoon bottles. But on the days he has say toast and fruit or baby porridge (not often just trying to use it up) he has a full lunch bottle.

So I think I'm not giving him enough at breakfast sometimes...
What do you give at breakfast and much do you give?

Hi my LO is 8 months (still breastfed) and weaning has been a bit of a battle due to illness etc but now he won't eat when I'm there! So weekdays he hardly eats a thing and just cries for the breast.

At the weekend my DH can feed him a bit but only if I'm not around. I'm currently banished upstairs and LO is downstairs screaming inconsolably with DH :(

Is this something that we just have to go through? I was planning to BF till he's at least 9months possibly a year but right now I want to give up so he's not so dependant on me :'(

I feel like such a failure :(

Hi
My baby girl is 27 weeks. We started purees (porridge a day 3 times in a week) at 23 weeks, then at 25 weeks we gave some veg purees then 26 weeks we started blw, she has tried all sorts - egg, chicken, fish, mince, potato, cheese, bread, pasta. However for the past 3nights she has been waking about 5 times a night screaming with pain and producing a huge amount of wind which smells bad. She does it during the day too but obviously it's actually waking her at night. I don't know if this is normal! Is it because her stomach is maturing and she is uncomfortable but will get used to the food or is it that she is intolerant? I exclusively BF for 6 months and haven't dropped any feeds and I give her water with her meals. She doesn't take much but will have a few sips. She has plenty of wet nappies so isn't dehydrated. He poos have reduced to once every 2-3 days but aren't solid, they are thicker consistency and bigger as less frequent but shouldn't hurt her to pass it.
The amount of wind she has is unbelievable though.
Today she only had sweet potato once in the day and I thought to just give very plain veg to her over the next few days to see if it helps.
Has anyone else experienced this with their LO's? Any advice would be much appreciated!

Hi ladies,

I've always had a pretty good routine with my baby, I fed on demand and she went from 4 hourly bottles to 3 hourly bottles up until weaning.

We are now on 3 small meals a day.....

Breakfast is a small yog with some toast sucking, lunch is the main meal which is normally a homemade puree or an Ellas Kitchen Pouch if we are out and evening is finger foods like sweet pot wages etc......my baby doesn't seem to be interested in food for long unless she is feeding herself.

My question is the milk.....my HV says baby is over weight as she started on the 25th centile but is now on the 91st......she was 20lb last week.

My question is milk feeds, how much should I be feeding and how often.

I ended up feeding baby at 4.30am this morning as she was wide awake and there was noooo chance she was going back, she wasn't upset but in could tell she was hungry soninfed her 6oz then we had breakfast at 8am and I've now just fed her 4oz milk as she wasn't happy and we tried everything so thinking she's defo hungry fornher milk.

I'm scared to over feed her but I wouldn't in anyway want to starve her or make her unhappy.

Any advice would be sooooo much appreciated.

Thank you xx

Hi all- do any if you have the babycook? And have you experienced rusting in the steam chamber?

A friend moved abroad and left me her's which she used for her LO (who's about 2y/o now) and they are very clean, hygienic people so I don't mind that it's 2nd hand. But I did the steam-clean on it today before using it and the water came out mucky brown with rusty flakes in! So I looked in the steam chamber and it looks rusty!

Is it safe to use it? Because the water gets used in the purees and it will have rust flakes in it

Thank you! x

I've been mostly TW my LO with hopes that I can switch to BLW but my fears are too strong to do it. I feed him lumpy purees but I load the spoon and let him feed himself with it and he really seems to enjoy that. Yesterday I gave him a slice of banana and this is the problem - he sticks finger food ALL the way in his mouth and then bites down with his 2 teeth leaving a really long slice of food in his mouth. I tried reaching in and removing a part of it but he clamped down and swallowed it whole. How the heck does this make any sense? And what if that food had been harder than a banana?

He did not gag at all but I almost had a heart attack. Why is this so difficult for me?
