Slow Cooker! - Recipes Anyone?


After being at Imis I've decided to buy one - I lie I managed to get my OH to agree to buy one tonight haha Didn't even have to flutter my eyes! He must be ill!

Anyway I use to buuy stuff like this for the kitchen only they never got used but Imis told me how easy they can be & a lazy way - I like lazy

I love stews but haven't bothered in sooooo long - I hate making em in pots so little preperation sounds good to me ...

Has anyone got any nice slow cooker recipes?

4 chicken breasts
3 quarters of a cup of rice
2 tins of campbells cream of chicken soup
celery
peas
3 cups water
s+p
lemon juice

this is scrummy it is Daves own invention and if you add mashed potatoe when eating yummy,bet you have thirds

Chicken cassarole :

poach the chicken first (breast)
eaither leave whole or chop
onions
Tomato (choped tinned)
mushrooms
oxo cube
1 cup of water

Leave on slow cook for 4 hours then 3/4 hours on high

Add seasoning of your choice according to taste

Stweing steak coat in flour and pepper (seal first)
baby onions
leeks
turnips
parsnips
carrots
new potatoes or old chopped

EITHER: Tin of Oxtail soup or below ingrediants if using soup and below omit the mustard and marmite

Salt +Pepper
marmite (teaspoon)
mustard powder (little pinch)
oxo cube x 2 Beef

Then dump dumplings in about 1 hour before if staying in SC and not finishing in oven otherwise 40 mins

Stew :

Fill Dish half full with boiling water
Add Potato
Carrots
Parsnip (choice)
Onion
Oxo cube

cornflour might need to be used to thicken just beofre serving

Slow cook on low for 4 hours followed by 3/4 hrs on high

Add dumpling an hour and a half before serving if wanted
Add seasoning according to taste

I'm Currently Feeling: 



Used mine tonight for a beef stew. Onions and carrots in with stewing steak, then add a pint of beef stock and a tin of chopped tomatos. I left it on low all day when I was out and it was ready for 5pm. Added dumplings and left for another 40 mins. Tasted fab - and Seren ate loads.
