*sigh* The latest, when I asked if she sees children or pregnancy this or next year, looked very sad, shook her head and said: "I'm sorry, no." As blunt as that. But she did say she sees a book deal for me!

BTW, I don't go see psychics all the time in an obsessive manner, just friends who drag me along as I'm the most open-minded of us all.

Anyway, if just one said it, fair dues. But THREE?

Funny - I was considering finding a psychic to see what they see on the ttc front, but my DH wasn't too keen. I'm not sure whether to follow it through considering we're so close to having our 2nd cycle of IVF. I don't want to get my hopes up too much, and at the same time I don't want to get too stressed or be too defeatist about it either...

Ah hun, 2 psyshics told me that me and DH were a mega fertile couple and would conceive as soon as we had unprotected sex - that was a flipping joke! It's science that matters in this game, not psychics, just ignore it. I'm sure they are very good at picking up on body language and perhaps you asking the question made them realise you have been ttc and not having much luck?

Can i just point out, hun..coming from a family who has some psychic ability (no, im not psychic, lol..but we can all tell things if you're tuned in etc) that as human beings we have free will. That means that even psychics work on the premise of reading the future by what is going on now. here and now. Anything, any little thing changes in the current and your future can take a dramatic turn.

Dont despair hun..your future is not set and you are the driver in this journey!!

ps...yes, do tend to trust my instincts. But you have weed out the worry, the negativity or anything else that comes in and clouds the view. It can be very difficult, yes...but it can be done. Like you i feel i have a baby girl 'out there' waiting for me. I cant explain it..i simply feel it. After all the lousy crap i have gone through, i now try to just go with the flow...accept what i know in my heart and edit all the rest....

Take no notice. They just play on your vulnerability. I had one promise me I'd have a baby within five or six months. That was over a year ago. I had another who said I'd have three kids by age 25. Nope, not happened. Another said I'd have two girls, one when I was 24 and another when I was 26. Again, nope.

I have a fair bit of experience with psychics as my mother is a very 'alternative/spiritual' person who gets very involved with things; her 'best friend' assured me that I wouldn't be trying 'for long at all' ... not sure what she see's as a long time ... may be I should have clarified that?!?

Yes, please do not take this seriously, I think some psychics probably truly believe they have a gift because they sense things in people more quickly than others, what they are probably sesing with you is some despair and negativity around concieving and interpretating it as no babies. When in reality they don't know any more than you and I. We all have those negative feelings though so they would probably had said the same for most ot us.

I do also think some of them can be good at picking up on insecurities and using that as a way of making people rely on them. The more vulnerable people become the more they seek help or guidence from others, which in many ways is good if its about rebuilding your confidence and gaining coping mechanisisms but not if you are handing the control of your life and destiny to others. You can take control of that yourself. Look within and decide what you want and just hold on to that and visualise it.

All they do is get your hopes up. You start living your life with what they said in mind and then when the time comes and goes you only end up resenting them and being upset with them for making you think something was going to happen.

Should've taped her saying that. I have physical proof that she is, indeed, wrong, and I want my twenty quid back.

I went for a hypnotherapy session for an issue that I have dealt with for many years. As I was leaving the office, the lady did Reike over my lower abdomen and said she felt a lot of energy..which is a good thing....and that I'd conceive "soon." 3 months later, still no baby....so just for kicks I called her up to see if she remembered me and her definition of soon. This was in the end of Nov 2008. She paused and said by the end of January. So, I had my period in the beginning of Jan, so unless I get pregnant this week (and I have ovulated already) she will be wrong. She also said she saw a daughter in my future. I am not counting on her because I believe in a higher power....just waiting.
