Surrogacy...

I was just wondering if any canadians (im in Nova Scotia) had gone through surrogacy and how much it costs? At the moment I dont need it (as far as I know) but want to keep the option open as I have no idea what the future holds. If I did go through surrogacy Im sure I could find a friend of family member to be the surrogate. I just want to have options incase I cant get pregnant or just cant carry a baby. Thanks in advance. xx

All I know is that a surrogate is not allowed (by law) to ask for payment for it. But, I think it just goes behind people's backs. If I had the money, I think that this would be a great option, using my egg, and Dh's sperm so that the baby would completely ours...just living in a "hotel" for awhile, since I obviously can't seem to do it.
