ovarian cyst

i was just wondering if they can stop your periods .i had a scan and they found that i have a large ovarian cyst on my right ovary .i also have a lot of pain on my right side and round the back .can they give you pain .lisa xxx

Not sure about the pain but I have numerous cysts - just been diagnosed with PCOS and this had led to a less regular cycle.

Hi megan06. Just wanted to let you know i had an ovarian cyst on my right ovary and it stopped my periods for about 8 months. in that time i conceived my daughter (4 next month). i later needed surgery to remove it as it caused me so much pain and was infected and have not been able to conceive for the last 2 years. it really worries me in case i may not be able to conceive naturally now. i have had lots of tests and even laparoscopy (if that's ho yo spell it) to check my tubes and everything seems ok. in some cases cysts don't really affect you but i guess i was unlucky. if it causes you pain i think you should have it checked out.

hi minimouse.thanks for the reply .i have a app at doctors tomorrow for a smear so are going to ask the doctor about what can be done because am in a lot of pain Today .i have also being trying to conceive for a long time . its also my daughters birthday in feb she will be 8 .
