Were you advised not to ttc for 1 cycle after your hsg?

Hi all,

Just got back from my hsg which was not too bad really. Have posted details in another thread - Have you had a HSG?

My question and reason for starting another thread is this - I asked if it was ok to try this cycle, and was advised by the doctor that whilst there is no scientific reason not to, given it is an invasive procedure with a dose of radiation, it would be best to wait until the following cycle. She said 1 of her patients got preg straight away and spent the whole 9 months worrying.

Was anyone else given this advice?
Was anyone else told it was fine to keep trying?
Was anyone given no advice at all?

Thanks all,

Hey

Nope i had my HSG last month and the consultant said i could ttc straight away as the HSG can make you more 'fertilie' depending on your fertility issue. There was no info regarding radiation and that we shouldn't stop ttc chick x

Thanks Rachelle - I thought it was unusual advice.

Anyone else given advice on this at their hsg?

I think the votes are in Jan - if your chances of conceiving are higher after HSG and any fertility issues aren't male factor then Go! Go! Go! Good luck x

Me too - I was told we have more chance of getting pg in the first 3 cycles after HSG, as it clears away any 'debris' that is in the tubes, and that we could carry on as normal - In fact we BD the same night He He.
I would make the most of it Hun

Maz xx
