Hey Kirsten

When i ordered the Maca last time it took about 5 days to arrive so fingers crossed it'll be here soon. In the meantime, get him some Wellman tablets - if you are in the UK they sell them in the supermarkets and boots?? Then it's just the usual - no drinking/smoking and no hot baths. Our shower is broken so DH has taken to 'dunking' in a cup of cold water... you can hear his screams for miles

What did the consultant advise?

Just remember, it's only 1 test and they like to do numerous tests for these things. Also, they can take the sperm direct from the testes for IVF so don't rule everything out just yet.

I don't know if it helps any but my DH had only 1 million sperm (you should have 20-99 million to fall within 'normal' range) and after 4 months making lifestyle changes and taking the maca, wellman tablets, zinc and vit c everyday his count went up to 8 million. So the changes DO work chick, they just take time and if you are as impatient as me, that sucks! I know 8 million is still well below what is deemed 'normal' but just think, in a year we could be 'normal'... god i've never been normal

Have hope chick xxx

Well OH said he didn't give him any advice, just said there was no chance and he needs to think about having another test.

They also didn't tell him how many sperm there were and the other morphology, motility info so I wasn't too happy about that and said nothing about ICSI so I wasn't too impressed.

He's taking maca, zinc, vit a, c, e and selenium, next to no alcohol and coffee so I aam going to suggest a retest in a month or 2.

Definitely chick - it takes 70-90 days for sperm to mature so you are looking at a 2-3 month turnaround to reflect any improvement from the lifestyle changes your OH makes so it might be wise to wait until then?

It's pretty shit that they gave him next to no information - they should have at least given him information and advice on what to do next.

I know we had to do 2 SA's before we got referred to the ACU. Fingers crossed when you get there, they are a lot more helpful x
