I just had a BFN for my 1st IVF Fresh cycle.
Hope to read some FET Success stories that can ease my mind now...

Yup. My SIL had a FET a couple of years ago. They nearly didn't even bother freezing because they'd had failed FETs before and she had a little girl the month after our two were born from ICSI.

We've just been in to discuss donating our 6 frosties and they were very positive about the success rates of those that successfully thaw. I think they say they can lose about 30% on defrosting but the success rate of those that make it is very similar to fresh.

When do you go in for your next cycle? Will they defrost all 4 for it?

Good luck, I really hope it works out for you.

I'm part of an Australian IVF forum and there are lots of girls on there that get their BFP from a frozen cycle.

The success rate for a FET is lower than for a fresh transfer, but as Helen said, so long as they thaw ok, you're in with a chance.

Best of luck for next cycle and so sorry this cycle didn't work

Don't know whether you saw this article in the Independent today. If I've read it correctly they seem to suggest that actually results are better with FET.

My doctor said a fresh cycle has about a 60% success rate and a FET has a 40% success rate. Of course, this can vary a bit from clinic to clinic.

Bloody hell - that's a high success rate. Maybe I should move to where you live. Does that figure include cancelled cycles as well or just those that get to embryo transfer? My clinic gives a 25% success rate regardless of diagnosis or age, and includes every couple that starts a cycle whether they have their cycle cancelled or not. They told me I am one of the youngest going for treatment and when I pushed one my chances for my age they still said 25%. 60% chance of success is brilliant.

xx

That IS good success rates. Our hospital only averages something like 29.9% success.

My clinic breaks it out according to age. So, 60% is for people under 35. You can go to sart.org to see the success rates for american clinics. They all average about 50% for under 35.

Mine does too. For FET its only actually 25 percent for those under 38, something like 14 percent for everyone else. It gives a break down of the number of pregnancies attempted and the number of successful pregnancies. It's not very good, but it's the only hope I have.
