I hope it is ok to join you all. DF & I have been ttc #1 since May 2007.

To give you all some background, I'm Steph (26) and DF is Ian (38 ) and we are celebrating 7 yrs together on New Years Day. Ian has been married once before and has an 11 year-old daughter, who is an absolute dote.

Went to GP in July, after just over a year with no BFP, who referred us to fertility consultant at local hospital and we had our first apt with him in Sept. GP had already done semen analysis & day 21 bloods, both of which were fine. Consultant ordered further bloods for me and more detailed semen analysis for DF, but said he believed problem was I am not ovulating, as my cycles range between 31-36 days. I had bloods done at GP practice and DF did further SA at hospital and I then telephoned to see when we could expect 2nd apt. Was dismayed to discover there is a nine month waiting list, especially after being seen so quickly initially.

I went back to my GP, who was wonderful, and after much to-ing & fro-ing with the hospital, got the go ahead to give me Clomid, which I started at the end of November. Had to attend hospital for scan on CD10, which showed 3 follies, so was told to abstain as this is considered too high a risk. Now on CD14 of 2nd cycle on Clomid & scan yesterday revealed 5 follies, so again have to abstain this month. Dr yesterday said they are going to change me onto Tamoxifen from next month, as my womb lining is too thin and would have little chance of implantation, even if there were only 1 or 2 follies. I have to go back on CD1 for a scan & to get prescription.

I am finding this whole journey so stressful and emotional, and I feel like a failure. Also, my darling MIL, who I adored and was so close to, passed away very suddenly on 6th December and we are all devestated. I can't believe, if I ever manage to get a BFP, she will not be here to celebrate with and my baby will never know his/her lovely Granny.

Sorry for your loss and sorry for the hospital telling you to abstain when you had 3 and 5 follies though I will confess to being slightly confused by this. I too have been TTCing since May 2007 and found I wasn't getting a because I wasn't ovulating. I hope the next set of meds work for you. Good luck
