Seems I Belong here too!

I do know a couple of you over here already but for those that don't
Here's a little background:

I am still coming to terms with the fact after 9 months off now pill i have only ovulated once!

I went to the doctors this week armed with my charts, and we discussed my cycles as well.

So far my cycles have been 81,56,65 and 46+ (my current cycle)

On my last cycle i have no positive on my opk till day 53/54 then ovulated.
This cycle i am constantly getting lines but no temp rise. one or two of them have been dark enough to assume a positive but they never reach the same darkness at the control line.

My two charts/cycles were the equivalent of 5 normal 28 days cycle! (so i've had 5 less chances to conceive ie 9 months = 4 cycles)

The dr is happy to refer me to get me ovulating - she thinks i've proved my point with my charts and has asked me to stop charting now (i will probably do it till arrives so i can determine if i ovulated this cycle) and Hubby needs to drop his sample off within the next week or so.

He is a little shocked he has been asked for a sample so soon - i thought we'd have to wait longer too.

He is on a lads weekend at the moment (loads of drinking involved) when is it best to do the sample, will the alcohol have an effect on his i know we need to abstain a few days but if the booze isn't going to effect it he can do it straight away when he gets home then we can until .
please advise.

Hi hun

Sorry to see you've had to join this forum - although you are very welcome and we're a friendly enough bunch.

You mentioned about your DH needing to do a SA. This is usually routine procedure before referral to a specialist. It will rule out any problems with your DHs swimmers. I wouldn't worry too much about his boozy weekend either as it takes 3 months for the swimmers to develop properly, and besides I'm sure the odd blow out isn't going to affect things too much. You may also find that a second sample will be tested too ...

Good luck with the tests and I hope you get your very soon.

xx

Hello and welcome!

I'm from Nottingham too and am at the clinic at the QMC which I am finding really good.

Re: DH sperm analysis, I think you need to make an appointment to drop it in and produce the sample within 30 mins of droppping it in to the clinic for analysis.

Hope your stay is short...

Hi and Welcome

Thats great that they're willing to be pro-active so soon, our Dr was the same and its a relief to feel like something is being done.

Make sure your DH abstains for 3 days. No more and no less or you can get a false reading. And nope, I wouldn't worry about his boozy weekend affecting the test.

Best of luck x

I live on Mansfield so i'm under the kingsmill hospital which has just been rebuilt.
it is a different trust to the QMC but it's only 10 mins away and the treatment i've already had there which includes an ultrasound and totally unrelated hearing aid has been great and fast.

I was told just to drop it off but i suppose i should call and check.
