Had mine on Friday so can be a premature buddy! Not sure if you saw my LAp and Dye diary post? (looking back on it, it was quite a poor effort of a diary!). Any way, I was scared of the anaesthetic as never had one before and it was absolutely fine, funnily enough, I had no idea what was going on!?!?! I did have quite a bit of cramping and pain when I came round but they were generous with the drugs so it was soon forgotten. Have been off work since recovering and feel a bit of a fraud as I feel fine now. A bit tender and the bruising is coming out around the belly button now which is bright yellow- weird! The results for me were good - no blocked tubes and they have found and cleared up some endo. Back to the clinic on 2nd december to get back on it with the clomid (hopefully!). Good luck and take it easy when you come out...

Hi guys, I just read your diary Millnsy - its deffo ok to be teary, I'm pretty scared at the moment just thinking about it as I a huge wimp when it comes to pain. Not sure what the general is going to be like, I've never really been sick in my life, not even a broken bone or anything.

Miel, I just read your "more news" post too, loads of replies there too - I'm just hoping for all of us that all this gives us a BFP for the new year. Its so encouraging to hear people's happy stories after their lap&dye / hys tests - I think thats the only thing keeping me going at the moment. I was so very happy when my doc told me that I would get this done before the end of year and then onto clomid.

Millnsy- can I ask if there will be any scarring? I'm not vain or anything but it would be nice to still be able to wear a bikini. Also, was it a quick procedure? I'm scheduled for 11ish, does it take long to prep you in the hospital? should I go there for say 10 or earlier? Were you told not to eat anything the night before or anything like that, I can't remember what my doc said to me.

to all you brave gals.

I have never had a lap, but I have had operations before...and the worst is the needle they put you to sleep with...after that...it's all over. You will wake up a bit sore, I am sure. But, when I had my c-section...I was up and walking and showering the very next morning. It was really not too bad. You will be OK. *Try* not to be scared (I know, easier said than done).

I had a lap and dye 3 years ago so not quite close enough to be buddies but just wanted to wish you luck, and say that I was nervous too but it was all over so quickly, the scars are tiny and I felt normal again within days - it's great to know the results of what they find so quickly too. Hope it all goes well for you x

I had to get there for 8am as they do a job lot of day surgery together. I think I went in at about 10ish and OH picked me up at about 1pm. I think the actually op takes about 20 mins depending on if they find anything. No food from 3am and I was allowed clear liquid before 7am but then nil by mouth until the Op. Re: The scaring, the small cut in the pubic line is so tiny and low down you won't notice it at all. The cut in the belly button is hidden in the belly button so there shouldn't be any visible scaring at all.

Good luck!

I'm on the waiting list for a lap and dye but I don't expect to hear anything this side of christmas, so I would love to know how yours goes. Good luck!

Thanks all, its going to be 1 week exactly from tomorrow. I do hope the results don't take long to come, am really looking forward to joining the clomid club and possibly having a really lovely new year present. I just spent the afternoon with my friend and her new baby and little girl, they are just little golden haired angels. Just playing with them has given me resolve for any unpleasantness.

Baby dust to all.
