I have bn posting in ttc but probably it should be here I'm posting, OH & I have been ttc for 2 and a half years I tried to talk to docs about it before and got brushed off because of my age (21) , In the end I had to bypass the docs and go to family planning clinic at the hospital to be taken seriously, So far they have scanned my womb and overies everything seemed normal, they have also taken bloods to see if I am ovulating properly still waiting for the results to come back but think I am as use clear blue fertility moniter which shows that I am, We are Taking sample of Oh :sperm: on Thurs morn pretty sure everything will b fine tho he already has dd aged 9, then next step is a laperoscopy they say my tubes may be blocked, (I'M SCARED ABOUT THAT) We have been taking Fertilaid drinking fertiltea using clear blue fertility moniter n preseed but nothing, Used Ovulex for 6 months before that nothing except my periods became very painful, Ordered Fertility Blend Going to try that next also keep using preseed and try baby asprin. Things just get so difficult at times I go threw stages of constantly crying and feeling so low I cant get motivated I'm just so scared I will never hear the words Mum spoken to me I feel that it is just eating me up inside, any advice on how to cope?

No advice on how to cope, but i know how you feel. Weve now been TTC for 20 months.
Its shocking how people will beleive that if youre young you cant possibly have a problem. I was lucky, my doctor started getting me tested after just 11 months of trying.

Edit: I was 19 at the time of getting tests done, im 20 now

Hi hun .. sorry not really got any advice. Me and DH have been ttc for almost 10 months and i have found it really hard. Never thought it would be this difficult. We are being put forward for tests in Sept this year .. I think it is shocking though that they wouldnt test because of your age though!!

I was REALLY lucky because our doc started testing after we'd been TTC for just 6 months. Lucky he did because we have quite a serious problem.

I have to have a laparoscopy done soon too...I had one done years ago for a different reason and its not scary at all. They will put you under anasthetic and you won't feel or remember a thing.

I'm thinking of you and crossing my fingers that everything is ok...let us know how you get on

Your silly GP!! Just don't get how some of them can be so insensitive & useless ... been there! Idiots but I am glad someone took you serious.

Spotting you mentioned being scared of the tube(s) being blocked - If *if* that is the case don't be scared hun they can unblock tubes safely.

Have you been recommended to take baby aspirin? There are reasons why a GP or someone like will advice this - Some info will tell you any doseage of aspirin may not be safe in pregnancy. I take it - My reaosn is because I had a borderline for lupus.

Thanks you so much for all your kind words, this forum has been such a pillar of strength to me although at times I still get down I have felt alot stronger since coming here, Thank you all for making me so welcome and for your support . I joined an american forum before and I will not mention which one as I dont feel it fair to slate other forums but most of the people were just so involved in there own we groups I felt out of place.Wobs as far as getting your tubes unblocked do you know if that is something I can have done privatly and what the sucess is, just if that is the problem the specialist I'm cing is saying if that is the problem the next step will be IVF threw them, they don't do the operation to unblock tubes they say it is not sucessful enough . As far as the asprin goes its 75mg tablets I am taking someone suggested I take it just till I get my BFP as its ment help with implantation and prevent misscarrage ?

Blocked or damaged fallopian tubes prevent eggs from getting to the uterus and sperm from getting to the egg. Leading causes include pelvic inflammatory disease, sexually transmitted diseases such as chlamydia, and previous sterilisation surgery.

Laparoscopic surgery to open tubes, if possible (small area of blockage). If surgery fails, in vitro fertilisation is an option.

Conception rates vary widely -- from a low of 10 per cent to a high of 70 per cent -- depending on the severity of the blockage and the amount of scar tissue that develops after surgery. IVF: usual success rates.

Thanks for posting that wobs, Silly question but where it says causes of blocked tubes I have never had anything like that at all, does this make it unlikely for that o be the problem? xxx

It's hard to rule anything out which is a bit of gloom.

I personally wouldn't worry about the what if this what if that (hard I know & I'm one to talk really lol) ... worry about specifiics if need etc. there could be so many explanations including nothing but a surprise one day.

You seem to be in good hands as far as tests go - They gave me a few blood tests & fobbed me off ... over a year that was. Glad I moved & the surprise bit me in the backside

Glad things are moving for you with your tests at last. It's outrageous that your GP would just leave you like that because of your age. Doctors need to consider the psychological effects of IF as well as the physical.

I think they can have a go at unblocking your tubes whilst they are doing the laparoscopy. Also, I had a friend who they discovered had endometriosis during her laparoscopy and they were able to clear that up at the same time. It's worth asking the question when you are discussing consent forms about how much they will do, best to get anything over and done with in one go, if you can.

I think they can do a laparoscopy privately, but I seem to remember that we were discouraged from doing that, though for the life of me I can't remember what reason we were given. I think it was something like a 6 month wait in our area.
