You can get 1 round of IVF on the NHS if they approve your application you have to have a lot of tests done and have a stronge case for it though and neither of you can have had children before or they hold that against you to. it's a nightmare.
I got clomid upon my 4th visit after much nagging and 18 months ttc without AF fricking nightmare!!!
Hi Aflight,

just wanted to ask you cos your under Princess Alexander, where they send you for IVF is it Herts and Essex or Bridge Centre. Do you know?

Ohmigod, after all that my stupid gynae consultant at King Geaorge hadn't even referred me to infertility at Queens!!!! I received a letter yesterday to say I have a follow up appointment on 13 Jan 2009 at gynae......I thought WTF I was supposed to have finished with gynae and have been referred and was anxiously waiting for a new appointment date with Mr sathanandan!!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry to rant but the NHS are such incompetent assholes. I rang PALS to complain cos they lost my TVS data when I went for my F/U on 28th Oct (my TVS was done 15th Sept so loads of time to get to my notes) and I think they may now have found it and so sent me another appointment for Jan. Well thats not on and its a waste of time cos they would only say the same thing and refer me then in Jan! So the PALS woman said she gave my details to infertility and they will send me an appointment and she has cancelled my Jan appointment. Well lets hope they get it right this time!!!!!!

Sorry hun they seem not to have a clue. What a mess up, seems like you did the right thing getting PALS involved. Keep us posted!

I feel a little bit dissapointed by the system as well because I feel I have been put on clomid for no reasons. I ovulate and have regular periods! I have enquired as why and they have just said to give me a time table of when to baby dance, as if I don't know after two years of trying. I feel it is just to fob me off and a procedure that they follow if you need it or not.

Hi,

I live in Southend-on-sea....and am being treated in both Southend General and The Pheonix clinic....I genuinely never EVER thought that I'd say this, but the General Hospital has been much more efficient and professional (the second time around) than The Pheonix; which is in fact a private practise.

Always....Yearning.x

Hi Yearning

Really glad you are getting the treatment and care you deserve. I have got my next appointment with my consultant on 3rd december to see the next stage after clomid. I hope I get similar attention.
