Help - questions

Hello, I have been TTC for just over a year now. After not much happening at all I went to see my GP who seems to think I have stopped ovulating as I have only had 3 periods since August of last year. I was poorly a few weeks ago so I was on antibiotics and he told me to go back in Ocotber if I didnt have another period etc etc. So I have been trawling the internet to find what may happen next or what they will put me on to stimulate my ovaries and when I didnt get very far I thought this was the best place to ask.

Hi and Welcome

The most commonly used drug for women that don't ovulate is clomid. Often a pelvic ultra sound is done to check the uterus and ovaries, blood work to check hormone levels and a hsg to check for blocked tubes is done before starting clomid.

Welcome. Plenty of advice given on this site!!

FJL is correct in that the normal drug of choice if you are not ovulating is Clomid. A few blood tests on different cycle days will be able to determine if you are or not. My GP was not able to give me Clomid and referred me to a specialist at the hospital.

I'm with waiting4u. My GP was not able to do anything other than organise a CD21 blood test and refer me to a specialist in the hospital. You'll probably find this will be the next option, although you may be given something to kick start your cycle again before being referred, or your GP may just refer you and the hospital will sort that out.
