Time invovled

Hubby and I went for our SA results on Friday. And it was not good news. we are being referred to the fertility clinic as his semen has been borderline for the past two tests. I am fine (had blood tests done) it is just a question of poor semen (mobility).
Our GP said it takes about 6 months between referal and first appointment (in our local area). She is referring us this week which is great as things are finally moving.

I was wondering how long it then takes to do all tests, etc from the first appointment? I know every case is different but I tend to worry all the time. How was it for those of you who've been through it?

Can't offer you any advice but we are in the same boat. Its DH's motility that is the concern, we have our joint appointment with GP next week and hoping they will refer us then. We are in Scotland so I suppose each pct will be different.

Good luck with your journey.
xx

Hi,

We're in Australia is i'm sure the times will be very different. We're also dealing with low motility (amongst lots of other sperm problems).

We got our first SA then decided to try some accupunture to see if that made a difference. Then we did another test, then another before seeing a specialist. So we opted for 6 months of natural stuff first. We waited around a month to see the specialist.

He then wanted me to get another lap and lots of other things done, this took about 2 months. Then for lots of reasons we changed specialists.

With the new one, we were able to get started with treatment fairly quickly as all tests were out of the way. DH just had to have a SA at the clinic.

Hi FJL
Did the acupuncture help? Hubby is keen to try it but we are a bit short on cash so we are hesitating.

Unfortunatley not at all as far as sperm is concerned. DH thought it made him feel a bit better energy wise, helped his sore knees, back and neck, but not the sperm.

Hi Hanna, I'm not sure about the answers to your questions but I wanted to wish you luck with it all.
