I'm Currently Feeling: | IVF Abroad Hi,
Just wondering what your thoughts on this are, I have started looking into it but the cost is a real issue. We would probably have to have ICSI IVF which is about £1000.00 more expensive here. So far I have been quoted at about £4735 all in (includes all my scans, initial consult, drugs, sperm scanning, after care etc). I will struggle to afford this at the moment and would have to borrow. I have been looking into it abroad (with initial consults and pre transfer stuff happening in London) but embryo transfer etc in the foreign country. It is cheaper but not sure about it.
Has anyone else tried this or what are your thoughts on it?
Thanks
Krissi |

I'm Currently Feeling: | I did look into this, but by the time we paid for our flights and accommodation for between the egg collection and embryo transfer, we weren't saving much. I did find a website that offers treatment between Sweden and the UK (in fact, the link was on bnb so you've probably seen it), and it was the most appealing one for us, but we decided to go for treatment at home.
Are you on the NHS waiting list? Is it possible to pay for the unfunded slots at your hospital?
I'm not sure I was much help. Good luck with whatever decision you make. |

I'm Currently Feeling: | Itsb only something I have just started looking into. I wasn't sure whether it was best to go via our hospital or find a treatment centre that specialises in fertility. Its all sooo expensive, why can't i be someone who falls pg by just looking at a man! |

I'm Currently Feeling: | Apparently I have been told I am not entitled to any free treatment as OH has 2 grown up children. Can't see what that has to do with me but hey ho! |

| Krissi-Do you know what the dollar conversion is on the figures you posted above? I'm familiar with what the treatments cost in the US and was curious what your figures are above but sure how to convert. |
