Lap & Dye Test & HSG Test to follow

Hi there girlies, hope all well, not posted for a while.

I have just had a Lap and dye test gosh i didnt realise how tender afterwards it would be and my stomach a week later is still blown up, is this normal and how long does it last?

I am also due to go for an Hysterosalpingogram (HSG) test, is this painful as I am really worried about this.

Its very strange the doctor said that in the lap and dye test, he could see all healthy but the dye would not go down, so he said my tubes might have gone into spasm but could not see why dye would not go down so now I am going back for an HSG test to see whether we can see any blockage.

Please advise I really need it.

Lisa.

I found the HSG very painful only on the side where my tube had a blockage. I would be lying if i said there was no discomfort but it is over quickly and the more you relax the easier it is. It is not unbearable at all the only discomfort you should feel is when they put they dye through. If they already did a dye test during the lap, why are they doing an HSG?

hsg test

Thanks for your reply,

They wanted to know why the dye was not going through on the lap and dye test even though they looked okay. He said it may be my tubes going into spasm.

So he is doing this x-ray to see if he can see any blockage.

I recently had a HSG and to be honest the pain was bareable. It felt like a very strong period pain. This is because the dye gets pushed in under pressure. As soon as they take everything out, it feels like a real release. I had some cramping for a couple of days after, but not awful. So for me it wasn't as bad as I was expecting, but I know that others have had different experiences. Best of luck hun.

I had on edone a few months back and to be honest there was a tiny bit of pain but nothing much. I think if there are blockages then it may be more painful X

pain threshold?

Hiya, i had a HSG yesterday. it was like a deep ache/cramp when she put the dye in but then she pushed the cannula in further and and i screamed ouch very very loud!

i was ok for the first cuple of hours but then keeled over. been keeled over since and my torso is covered in hives. been to see gp and she thinks i've had a reaction to the dye they used which i beleive may contain iodine - which is linked to shellfish???????????????? i am not allergic to shellfish but something has gone wrong. they said i had no blockages but i feel bruised to hell!

my tummy is large and cramp and i feel like i have a large amount of trapped wind.

don't wanna scare you but be prepared. declare fish allergies and dose yourselve up with iboprufen and paracetomol about 1 hour before you go in.

you may also get some light spotting aterwards.

sex can resume to normal as long as you are blood and pain free.

good luck!
