I'm Currently Feeling: | Depends where he is doing it.
Usually the first go or two are done at home. He gets a little bottle, does the necessary, tries to catch it and then you sprint across town with it tucked in your bra to keep it at body temperature. About a week later your GP has the results.
If he's going in to do it, I'm afraid it's a bit like every comedy you've seen on the subject. Shown into a room with some mags and his bottle.
Is he anxious about it? |

I'm Currently Feeling: | Meant to add, if he's going in to do it, there's nothing stopping him taking in some of his own *ahem* reading material to help things along. |

I'm Currently Feeling: | He isn't talking to me, he is in a flow mood about it. What's this about the first few times, not telling him that |

I'm Currently Feeling: | Well hopefully if all is well then he'll only have to do it once. If it comes back inconclusive or something looks a bit under par then they'll test again. My DH did two at home and then went into the ACU at the hospital to do a third test before they sent us for IVF. |

I'm Currently Feeling: | Hopefully things will all be fine then, it's me sparking concern, but they have to rule him out till they will take things further. X |

I'm Currently Feeling: | My DH is having a SA first thing in the morning. As we live more than an hour away from the hospital lab, DH's sample has to be produced in the hospital (he's not too happy about that either lol )
After that, I don't really know what will happen. He has to be tested as we are being referred to a specialist because it would appear that I do not ovulate.
Hope you are on speaking terms with OH soon hun!! |

I'm Currently Feeling: | They will be looking at count, motility and morpholgy in the early stages. If thats all fine they may not do much more...it depends on specialists. I know of men where all is fine then they get the big SCSA lab test done and it shows up high DNA damage levels or anti sperm anti bodies.
As Helen said if the first test isn't all that great there will be at least 1 more test involved.
My poor DH has had 5 tests - 3 general lab and 2 SCSA tests.
I know it can be hard for them but what we go through is much worse and much more invasive. I know i'd prefer to be a guy jerking off over porn rather than a woman with her (my) legs spread time and time again infront of a room full of people and enduring painful procedures. |

Funny how they don't see it that way though! |
