Question

Clomid confussion - please help!!!

Hi all..

Ok so I have started my first round of clomid, I'm taking 100mg day 2 to day 6 but I'm unsure of when to start doing opk's, I've heard that if you test too soon you can get false positives so I don't want to do that but I also don't want to leave it too long and miss it!!! My poor brain is soooo confused!!!! Does anyone have any advice please??

TIA

Hi,

I have just taken my first cycle of clomid too. I had a scan on CD14 and had one good egg. I was given an injection of Pregnyl to induce the egg release and then told to go home and do the bd.

I think clomid can sometimes interfere with opk so you might want to check with your doctor. I didn't use them as I was going for a scan.

Wish you lots of luck with the clomid and really hope it works for you!

First cycle I was given scans at the hospital on day 12, 16 and 17 (I think) and they sent me home with some tests to do. First cycle was 30 days and Progesterone only 8 so didn't work.

Second cycle I went in on day 17 for the scan and the follicles were bigger and womb lining thicker. They gave me a shot and I had the blood test. This time progesterone was 22 which still isn't high enough to OV. Only 25 day cycle though this time.

Am now on third cycle and they have double dose to 100mg per day (Which it looks like is what they started you on). Booked in for scan on day 12 this time.

'Spose what I'm saying is its different for everyone and hopefully the clinic should be monitoring you quite closely. Hope it works for you...

Hi there, My Dr told me that Clomid interfers with the result of ovulation kits so not to use them. It also says them in some OPK's literature.

I did use them, couldn't help myself and regularly got a false positive!

Have a chat with your Dr/nurse when you get your blood tests back or if you are having scans, they will be able to tell you.

Best of luck on your Clomid journey!
