I'm Currently Feeling: | Do you have clomid and hcg shot? Those ladies that are taking clomid, do you also have the shot to release the follie?
Just curious to know what others are doing?

I'm Currently Feeling: | Yes I am! - At least I think thats what it is, they don't really tell me what it is they just tell me to drop my pants and bend over!! Ha Ha! I had it last month but still no OV. Had one on Weds last week and go for my blood test on Weds to have my progesterone checked to see if I have OV'ed this month.
Good luck! | | | | Status: Offline

I'm Currently Feeling: | Hi! I get an HCG shot after Clomid as well. Once I go in for u/s and follies are a good size, RE gives me HCG to trigger ovulation, and I have the IUI within 36 hours to have the sperm waiting for the egg. |

I'm Currently Feeling: | No, it's for people that ovulate as well.
I ovulate normally and have regular AF's, all come like clockwork, but the problem is DH's sperm is too low. The RE is trying to make up in some way by having more than one egg mature and be released, which is why I'm taking clomid and trigger shot.
Haven't had much luck yet though, as this is my upcoming IUI #3.
So I'm thinking in your case, HCG shot would be to trigger ovulation earlier in your cycle, I'm not sure if you would get Clomid, though. Good luck! |

I'm Currently Feeling: | I am taking clomid days 2 to 6 of my cycle, on day 12 I go for an internal ultrasound scan and if my follicles are the right size I have the HCG shot to make me ovulate. They say I should ovulate in the next 12 to 36 hours. However they don't do any blood tests to make sure I do ovulate which annoys me as I would like confirmation that the shot does what they say it does. I was surprised to have this treatment as most people I had read about just had the clomid and the scans to make sure they weren't over stimulated, however after being prescribed this I have heard that this is just as common too |

Hi Loopylew,
the trigger shot (HCG) is given when the follies reach a good size and it ensures that they release! |
