Blood tests

After having had an internal swab at the same time as a smear test last week, the surgery has just called to say that I need to come in for some blood tests (no specific time of my cycle - just blood tests). I didn't manage to get anymore information. I am worried about it though. The doctor we have been seeing has been very good so far and has explained everything but she never mentioned that.

Hubby had a sperm test done last week too and he needs to do another one so I guess that's not good news either.

Sorry I am not really expecting a reply, I just needed to tell someone and try not to worry.

Hi Hun,

Try not to worry - there are a number of routine blood tests that can be done if you are having probs ttc.

My DH had a sperm test done and it was perfectly normal, but the consultant has said he needs to do another one, so may not be anything to worry about.
If you are really concerned, give your GP's surgery a call, and ask to speak to the GP. It will put your mind at rest.

Good luck Hun

Maz x

Some of the blood test I had were just routine things like Iron and something else (I know I am kak at remember), but then you will get more specific ones on cd 21 (I had mine on cd22)m to see if you ovulate. Best if you can get them all done at the same time.

Good luck

They probably just want to do a full blood count to check you aren't aneamic or fighting any infections. And I would expect the second SA on you OH is to have something to compare the first one to. Please try not too worry I am sure it will all be fine. I have had to have swab tests done and also been tested for clymadia which worried me to death and everything came back fine for me.
