It's crap, hopeful4baby isn't it. I often wonder what's better - finding out there IS something wrong (but that can be treated), or having nothing wrong but just having to wait it out... |

I'm Currently Feeling: | Hi Magic - the medication does work, and alleviates all the symptoms - I did have them really bad until it was controlled by meds, but thankfully all in order now, and I get all my prescriptions free because of it
Don't think you have got a problem with it though, by the sounds of things.
I must say that my slurring of words only happens at the weekend
It's amazing how we become obsessed and google everything to try and diagnose our own problems. I am an expert at it

Everything helps!
Did you get prescribed the Clomid as a result of getting the spotting checked or was it due to something else? (Sorry for being nosey!)[/quote]
To be honest I don't really know why I've been given Clomid. Am 31, had been trying 18 months at the first appointment with the fertility clinic and my periods were very irregular so I think the idea of the Clomid is to regulate my periods. Fingers crossed! | | | | Status: Offline

I'm Currently Feeling: | Hiya!
I've had a history of spotting since coming off BCP 2 years ago. Therefore, you might find my 'history' helpful?
At first it was only a few days before AF and was told probably due to BCP but after my first mc last Sept, the spotting increased to 7-8 days before my AF (and I sometimes had one dry day before my AF started). Since my last mc in May, the spotting had got even worse...I start spotting straight after OV!
My GP said spotting always need investigating so referred me to Gynaecologist...(he wasnt very nice and not really helpful) He said I may have a polyp and bleeding from cervix so I am on a waiting list for a hysteroscopy. He wouldn't discuss my mc's or concerns re: fertilty.
Another Gynaecologist that my DH and I went to see private (cos of 2 mc, spotting and short cycles) said that he thinks I may have polyp but he is also referring me for blood tests and will start me on progesterone after surgery cos he thinks that I have a short luteal phase (cycles are about 25 days). At least he is willing to help me now rather than wait for another mc!
Don't worry, some of us have spotting and all is okay therefore nothing to worry about as long as it has been checked out...you can get some spotting at OV or implantation...there are lots of causes as I'm sure most of you know!
I feel much better to know that I'm not alone with this spotting milarky! | | | | Status: Offline

I feel much better to know that I'm not alone with this spotting milarky! | Hey - thanks for that Millymolly and welcome to the Spotting Club Hope your tests give you some answers hun! Progesterone is definitely a big player in spotland but make sure you do actually get your prog.levels checked. I think my doc put me on prog. rather than go for the tests, but it's obviously not that as it's still happening... Mine is definitely not ov or implantation either. I was told by a doc in Portugal about 5 years ago that I had a "lesion" on my cervix and he wanted to investigate, but I was due to leave portugal and no doc since has commented on it, so it's not there as far as I'm concerned. But may be that's somethign to do with it? Hmmmmm You have got me pondering too! I almost half wish I don't get a this time as then I will get to have this prob looked at and it's driving me nuts now!!! (No, give me the - what am I saying! ) |

I'm Currently Feeling: | Thanks for the reply
I'm feeling really low today as spotting started yesterday (CD17 of 25 day cycle /7DPO)
I know it makes total sense to stop TTC to sort out the spotting and await blood results just in case they detect something that may need treating to prevent further mc's.... but... it is so hard when we have been trying for 2 years and time is against me (I'm 42).
It does help chatting to you all here on BnB...a big THANK YOU | | | | Status: Offline

I have never heard it suggested that spotting is something that should make you put ttc on hold though - did your gyno or doc say that, or is it because you're on the waiting list for the hysteroscopy? |

I'm Currently Feeling: | Both... the first Gynae didn't say anything, no explanation or advice just that he'd put me on NHS waiting list for the hysteroscopy (12 week wait). He was the one who wouldn't discuss mc's , fertility or anything. He is also the local Fertility Consultant so my GP said he would discuss everything but he didnt, I was so disappointed!
The private Gynae was very approachable and gave explanations etc and was willing to offer advice about all our concerns. He said he didn't think the spotting was affecting my fertility but thought it could be due to a polyp so he advised me to have the surgery to hopefully stop the spotting. He did say that I might have a condition that has contributed to mc's (eg, lupus, blood clotting problems etc) so referred me to have blood tests. (he is a mc specialist and will help us after 2 mc rather than the NHS 3 mc wait). He said to stop TTC to have the surgery and to get the blood test results (7 week wait) cos he said that it isn't a pregnancy my DH and I want but a baby so it's best to wait cos if I have something amiss, it will need treatment to prevent further mc's. (apparently if you have lupus, you have a 96% chance of mc!)
The results may come back all clear, at least then my DH and I know that mc's must have been due to abnormal eggs and we can keep trying for that one good egg and relax knowing we have done all we can. If results do unfortunately show something, hopefully it can be treated!
I am still so surprised at all the different advice, support and treatment us females get, not only in the UK but across the world! x | | | | Status: Offline
