| Just found out Hi
We have been trying for 2 years for a baby and just found out my partner has "slow" sperm, he went to dr without me so Im not sure how bad but have been referred to fertility clinic in edinburgh for tests and counselling etc. Ive had all my hormone levels etc and ovulation bloods done and everything from my side is fine, he brought home his results and to me (lame eye) looks quite bad as lot of head and body defects around 70% immobile! What does this mean!
My friend had ICSI and has now got 11 year old triplets and she tells me just to go for that but it is expensive. do you get such treatment on NHS or is it all private.
Im gutted, things are never simple! | | | | Status: Offline

I'm Currently Feeling: | Sorry to hear that the test came back with bad news. How long did he obstain before the test? My doctor told us 3 days. You should take more than one test to confirm the results. |

I'm Currently Feeling: | Hi hun
Sorry to hear your bad news. I'd get another SA done just in case it was just a bad batch so to speak. You can get ICSI on NHS but as Wannabmum said waiting times are a real pain and vary from region to region. Like Wannabmum, we are going for a private treatment as it's going to be next summer before our NHS treatment comes round |

I'm Currently Feeling: | Sorry to hear about your news!
I have 2 friends currently on fertility treatment in Glasgow (sorry, dont know where you are). There's roughly a 2 year waiting list in our area. One of my friends conceived with ivf and unfortunately mc (due to blodclot on placenta, total bad luck, could have happened to anyone she was told) She was 41 this year. She still has 6 embryos and is planning another go later in the year (2nd go is till free on NHS).
Another friend is 34 and has been trying for 3 years. They were originally diagnosed as oh having 'slow swimmers' (she was fine). She is now getting full fertility treatment after waiting 18 months.
Im going to the doc on 14th. Dont lose hope, it'll happen-just not perhaps during a drunken fumble after a night out, lol! , Omi xxx |
