Okay let me start off by saying I love my friends, I really do.. but I swear some of them are freaking clueless.
I have a very close friend who is pregnant right now. I am very happy for her, but it is still hard on me (many of you know that feeling all too well)
Another mutual friend texted me this morning and it said "We need to plan a baby shower for *****"
I wanted to text her back with "you inconsiderate bitch are you kidding me" but I texted her back with "baby showers are very hard on me right now"

It is going to be hard enough to even GO to her shower, let alone think about planning it for her, which since she is such a close friend, I am sure I will be part of it some kind of way.... BUT I did not need to start off my week with this text, b/c it just put me in a sad mood.

Sometimes people are so clueless - they'll be really supportive but because they just don't get it and it's not on their mind all the time, they'll come out with things that just cut deep. I so so hope once I do conceive I remember what this feels like and don't do it to anyone else.

Think I'm glad baby showers aren't a tradition we have in England - one less thing to feel crappy about!!

I really need to keep reminding myself that even though TTC is on my mind all the time, my friends don't realize just how bad it hurts when they say stuff sometimes. They know I went thru the Clomid, the Follistim injections, the unsuccessful IUI, but I guess since we had to delay another round of fertility treatments for financial reasons, they might think we are not thinking about it right now.

This is so true! I really don't think you can understand how horrible TTC is until you've been through it yourself. I had a very close friend in this position a few years ago and i tried to help her and understand her feelings back then. Going through this myself has made me realise what crap advice i gave her (and yes, i admit, i did tell her to 'relax and it might happen' a couple of times!). A couple of weeks ago i actually sat down with my friend and apologised to her for everything i had said a few years back, and begged her to forgive me! Of course she just laughed at me, but it made me realise i shouldn't be so harsh on my other friends. Until you've been through this yourself you have no idea!

Whenever I compliment a friend on her 2 little girls, she always says stuff like "you want em? I'll sell them to you real cheap" I just laugh it off, but deep down want to slap her. This is my same friend who had her tubes tied b/c her and her OH were not even trying to get pregnant and WHOOPS.... 2 times....
