I'm Currently Feeling: | Laparoscopy Bad news. The nurse just called w/ results from bloodwork and 1st IUI is a . I'm so disappointed. As soon as get AF we are going for 2nd IUI. Anyway, I have read a few things about a procedure called laparoscopy. I know that the procedure can find scar tissue, etc that could not be seen otherwise and can be removed. Well so far DH and I normal so maybe its something that just hasn't been discovered yet. I had HSG 10/07 and both tubes clear. I'm just willing to try just about anything to get our miracle. Has anyone had a laparoscopy done or know of anyone? Any success stories? I'm not sure if or when I'm going to do it. I haven't even discussed with RE yet. Just wanted to see if my ladies knew anything first!

I'm Currently Feeling: | I've had 2 done. First one was when I was 19 (almost 7rs ago now!) because I had very bad period pain and sex was also very painful. The Dr at the time thought it sounded like I had endometriosis. Anyway, the lap found nothing.
I also had one this year to rule me out with any problems (fertility wise) so that we could start treatment. I also had hysteroscopy, D&C, uteral biopsy and dye test.
I think its worth a mention to your RE hun. Have you had an internal ultra sound before to check out your ovaries? |

I'm Currently Feeling: | Thanks for you info!! I have had vaginal ultrasounds done every cycle for the past 7 months to monitor follicle size right before ovulation and trigger shot. Is that what you mean? I agree with you. I think I'm going to go ahead and talk w/ RE about it and hopefully go through with the procedure..Can hurt anything, right? |

I'm Currently Feeling: | I had a pelvic (its an internal though) u/s on day 5 (i think so anyway) of my cycle to see what everything looked like when it wasn't being active making eggies etc. But if there was something wrong with your ovaries - PCOS for eg, then i'm sure they'd have picked it up when they did your u/s's.
As for the procedure its not so bad, its done under GA, you wake up feeling a bit sore and are sore (like really bad period pain, for me at least anyway) for a good week or so before feeling back to normal. You'll also be quite bloated and swollen.
It will help to rule out a few things and give you a bit more peace of mind. I think its a good idea. Let us know how you go with talking to RE about it |

I'm Currently Feeling: | Sorry you had a BFN, it is so difficult, sending you lots of hugs!!!
I had a laproscopy done as an emergency op as I had a burst cyst. They fill your tummy up with gas ( sure it is called something else!) so they can have a good look. It is done key hole surgery and you are sound asleep ( that's the nice bit!) I too was just a little sore, and very bloated for about a week.
I had my HSG sometime after the op. I don't know but if your HSG scan showed clear tubes, I am not sure why they would do the laproscopy? I don't know but good to check, naturally we want to try anything that may help so always worth talking about it.
Wishing you lots of luck. | | | | Status: Offline
