| My best friend got married 4 years ago and knew then that she would have problems conceiving because she has a tumour (benign) on her pituitary gland and no thyroid so she is on high doses of Thyroxin. These conditions mean she is also overweight.
Her periods were few and far between but after a couple of years she managed to get pregnant about four times using fertility drugs. She miscarried each time - including one ectopic and twins.
I went to see her in Hong Kong in Feb 06, not knowing she had just had IUI. She didn't feel pregnant compared to previous times so carried on drinking at the rugby 7s, we went to Koh Samui for a wek where she did a test and found out to her amazement she was pregnant but she didn't hold out much hope given her history.
She had a difficult pregnancy but Ollie is now a happy, chubby, giggly six month old and she is thinking about the next one.
