Switching to IUI

My doctor office called and told me that my insurance will not cover IVF until I go through 3 cycles of IUI. In the back of my head I knew this was coming though. No insurance is THAT great. I am thankful that I get to do IUI so I'm not too bummed.

Good luck with the IUI - how soon can they start it?

Crossing my fingers this works for you.

Thank you! It all depends when they get the pre-auth from my insurance. Until then, I am suppose to keep taking my BCP to prep my ovaries for FSH injections. Hopefully I will know more when I go on the 25th to get some bloods and ultrasounds taken.

At least they will still cover both options, even if you have to do IUI first

Well my consultant said 3 iui were eviv to 1 IVF success wise - so that;s not nec a bad thing to have to switch, at least they are being covered anyway and then you'll get IVF still if you need it, which I hope you won't by then
