I'm Currently Feeling: | Oh yeah, and if you are trying to figure out if you ovulate by your progesterone level...I have a big beef with that test, and I will tell you why. I was told to come in on whatever day it was in my cycle to get a blood test, progesterone level, to see if I was ovulating. I think my level was 9 or something...well below. I was told that I was not ovulating and was prescribed Clomid. It was that I was to take Clomid starting on the first day of AF, for five days. I waited, waited, waited....for AF. FINALLY, I took a pregnancy test...and it went POSITIVE instantly! So much for not ovulating. Yes, I do have low progesterone, but, I also ovulated! PS...that is now my 3 1/2 year old little girl! |

If your prog level is low, they should repeat it to see if that was a one off or a consistent low, and as stated up there ^^ there are things that can be done.
Oh yeah and change your nasty doctor!! |

I'm Currently Feeling: | i think i have low progesterone but my GP and consultant havn't tested for it yet, my consultant said my short luteal phase was due to the pill and the length of time i was on it and my gp did my hormone blood tests on the day AF was due so i think it would have showed normal leavels then anyway, where as if they'dve done it on cd21 they'dve seen i hadn't ovulated by then despite having a 32 day cycle. Im taking Agnus Castus now which seemed to have helped a bit last month, incresing my luteal phase to 9 days!! |

| I would be concerned that they did the test too late if I were you - the test should be done 7 days after OV - therefore if you have a + OPK on cd12/13 (I think you said) - then the test should have been done on cd 19/20 not 22. progesterone levels go down significantly after 7 days post OV unless you are preggers - so it is understandable that it would be a lower result?
I would get another test done if i were you and demand that it is done 7 days post OV jut to make sure you are getting accurate results.

I'm Currently Feeling: | An endometrial biopsy (done in DR's ofice) is a reliable way to test your hormone levels too. |

I'm Currently Feeling: | EVENING ladies
Well i was at the assisted conception unit to get weighd, and the midwife looked for my bloods, they where 19 on cd22 i ov'd on cd12/13 well a +OPK and all the usual symps.....
She is convinced that i DID OV but the test was done to late, she says even a day or two will matter
She took more bloods to repeat it, and i phone the clinic on Monday, she has also told me how disgusted she is with my GP for the GP's attitude!!
So she has told me to just get my cd21's done at the clinic now!!
So its obvously still low, but at least she is hopefull i have OV'd, i know i will not get my tho, does the level not need to be really high for a mature egg?????
I was due my AF yesterday or tomorrow, i have no symps either way.... this is first proper cycle after my m/c xxx |
