Looking into the near future

I am so sick of trying to get pregnant. We are on month 20 (more cycles than that since I have 25 day cycles). Yeah, I know that once I do become pregnant, I have a higher chance of miscarriage, since I have been diagnosed with recurrent miscarriages. But, just even getting to the pregnant point is becoming increasingly difficult. I have been looking into IUI. It will cost $225 for DH to get his sperm analysed. Then $350 for a super ovulation and the IUI procedure (includes sperm wash). So, about $500. I brought it up with DH and he said, "so when are we going to do this?". I said that I was just looking into it for now...but, it sounds so tempting, doesn't it?

Anyone had an IUI and wants to share their experience and opinions...please do so.

Dear Jasmak,

I guess I have a similar story, altough I'm still only trying for no. 1. I have had 2 m/c May 06 and Mar 07. We were not trying in between them, as I got a new job, so we got pregnant pretty much straight away each time. This time it's been about 15 cycles. I don't understand why! Why such a long silence! I thought I had a problem keeping the baby, but now I can't even concieve! It's so frustrating and worrying! I've got my first appt on 4th of August with the fertility specialist to see what path we will take. My husband is up for anything too and he's so positive, I really don't know where he gets it from! Sorry, I don't have a story of IUI for you. Hopefully, whatever way, it will work out soon.

I don't have personal experience with IUI but a few girls I know got pregnant right away with it. It might take one or two rounds to get pregnant though so depends on your finances. These girls were conceiving their firsts so they just jumped right in.

Good luck!

I've got no advise Jasmak, but just wanted to wish you loads of luck in whatever path you choose.
