I'm Currently Feeling:

What to expect at Docs??

Hey guys

Just wondered if anyone could help me?

Been TTC for a while and no joy as yet. Been monitoring my temp/opk etc for the past 4 months so that i could make sure i knew what was happening with my body.

Month 1 i got a positive OPK at CD14 and then i began spotting at CD 25/26 and AF came CD28 so i had a luteal phase about 11/12 days.

Month 2 i didn't get a positive OPK at all and has spotting as above and AF at CD28 - my cycle is very regular!

Month 3 i got positive OPK at CD 14 again and

Month 4 i got positive OPK at CD 18 (PM) and CD 19 (AM)..... but temp dropped by 0.8 today (CD20).

If i go to the doctors have you got any idea what they will recommend having been TTC for 12 months with no success and the above cycles?? is there anything i can do myself without the doctors assistance?

I thought i would definitely be ovulating regularly since my cycles are always the same but possibly i'm a bit thick!

Thanks for your help in advance

i don't think you personally could do much else but if you went to Drs they would do your bloods and check all your levels are ok, thyroid ok etc

Hello again,

Not sure how they check for thyroid issues, but I do know that a blood test around CD21 can test your progesterone levels which confirms whether or not you are ovulating. Also, taking vitamin B6 helps some women lengthen their luteal phase if it's on the short side.

I haven't had any tests done yet but quite fancy the 21 day one for progesterone. It's a really good sign that you are getting positive OPK's though so I would guess you are OK. also and 11/12 day luteal phase is within normal limits but perhaps B6 could buy you an extra day or even two. Best of luck.

I found this link which is quite informative.

http://thyroid.about.com/od/getteste...bloodtests.htm

Not sure it's what you are looking for, but I felt like I'd exercised my brain cells after I had read it. I'm sure being a member here for over 6 months warrants a qualification in something or other. How about a BSc (Hons) Babysciences?

Thanks girls - i kinda feel proactive by going to the docs so i will ask her how much B6 to take and see what she thinks? I jiggled around with FF today and despite getting + on CD18 it says i didn't O until CD20 and AF is due CD28??

Guess i'm just looking for reassurance from doc re the no ovulation one month, late the following month etc.

Hoping she won't do a smear as had one last year and the evil b*tch made me bleed she was so rough! had the audacity to tell me i'm got AF and waved the brush in my face!!
