I'm Currently Feeling:

Couldn't get onto pc last night to update....
well it went ok, nothing really happended as expected. He asked a few questions then generally told us to relax given that i was on the pill 11 years he said he would not be overtly concerned until we had been ttc 18mths to 2 years!! He said my short luteal phase was nothing to worry about and as my body readjusts from the suppresant side of the pill my luteal phase will lengthen, which i suppose it is doing but very slowly. He said to stoip temping, using monitor etc and just bd every other day from cd10-18 totally missing the point that i don't know when im ovulating with my short luteal phase so needless to say im not stopping either. We have to go back in 3 mths when he'll do an internal examination and said he might prescribe some mild fertility drugs to push things along. He was really nice and i feel like we are slowly getting somewhere. Im gonna carry on taking Agnus Castus as i think that helped last cycle move my ovulation 3 days anyway.

Glad it all went well Loopylew. It's frustrating when they tell you do just go away and BD though isn't it? I've been there, so know how you're feeling.

Did he not book you in for any other tests?? Seems a bit odd that he's talking about fertility drugs without knowing if everything else is okay..

I think I'd insist on bloods, scans and SA when I went back in 3 months if I were you.

Hopefully you won't need to go back though.

Agree with Amanda, make them do some investigations before getting any drugs, what is he thinking?!

No idea, ive already had quite a few tests done by GP and hubbies had sperm analysis done, all ok so far so maybe the initial tests he would do have already been done by my GP maybe?

Hi LL

I had bloods done and a smear done before I went to see the specialist, and hubby has a SA done. I was given an internal scan to check for cysts/fibroids/ etc, and then told to go for a HSG in the first half of my next cycle. It was only after all that had been done that they prescribed me 50mg clomid. I was then referred to the hospital that has the funding for IVF and the consultant took me off clomid as he said "you're ovulating your self so why put chemicals into your body?" - made sense is suppose.

I don't get how they could put you on fertility drugs without having checked that your tubes etc are normal and clear first, but I guess every trust is different.

Glad you got the ball rolling and that he was nice. Good luck. Hopefully you won't need to worry about it anymore, and you'll get your very soon.

xx
