| Low sperm count Found out today that DH has a low sperm count. Has anyone any advice on this? Do you know anyone who has got pregnant with a partner who has a low sperm count? I just need some reassurance. | | | | Status: Offline

| My friend's partner has low sperm count after chemo (well .. actually they told him non-existent sperm count) but they have a fighting fit 2yr old now...
From memory I think things like pre-seed would help (support the swimmers that are there) and I know they made sure they BD'd regularly but not 'too much'.
Diet is meant to help (zinc?) lot's of greens for iron and apparently anti-oxidants also help.
Also they got preggers after her OH had trained and run 1/2 marathons/marathons, so I'm not sure but maybe fitness plays a part? (It was 'accidental' as they have triplets from IVF 'cos of his chemo ...)
Basically it happened after he re-vamped his lifestyle, food, fitness etc etc
It is a set back, but its not the end of the journey sorry if I explained it really badly | | | | Status: Offline

| My OH has a low sperm count too,
He is now taking Sanatgen Pre Natal (His) tablets with added zinc to help his swimmers.
He has started riding to work every day, he is quite fit anyway, cut down on alcohol, both trying to eat more healthily - more fruit etc. I have heard that tomato soup helps although not tried it!!
The lady that gave my OH the test results said that the worry and stress of doing the test can affect the sperm count as it is not a nice thing to have to do!
We have been referred to a fertility specialist so we will see how that goes, has his doctor also done this? Have you had any tests done?
Just keep reminding yourself, it only takes one!!! xx | | | | Status: Offline

| Thanks for all your advice. Feeling much more positive now...suppose it was just the initial shock-now got to get the positive vibes through to DH. There will be a baby bott one day. FYI DH is 25, fit and healthy, doesn't drink, doesn't smoke, eats healthily, rarely has caffine, is taking zinc wears boxers...etc. so I gather we'll just have to be patient and keep trying! Haven't got any more check ups or appointments as DH is now out of the catchment area for that doctors and needs to get a new one! | | | | Status: Offline
