Anyone had a Day21 test or know about them?

Hi, I've never ventured over here before, usually on the TTC forum so hi to everyone!

I had my day21 test at lunch. But having looked online, it seems it's best to have them done 7dpo - but I ovulate on CD17-18 of a 28 day cycle so it's more like 4dpo. Therefore, isn't it likely that it'll come back negative as there's not been enough time for the hormones to build up?

If it does come back negative, what's the next step usually?

Thanks, T xx

I know I might have too short a luteal stage. I did mention this to my dr and he looked at me strangely and said as long as there's a wk betw Oing and AF, I'm fine but an internet search suggests the contrary so not sure he knows what he's talking about. This is our 7th cycle of trying. x

I think you should be ok at 4dop, as the hormones are pretty strong at O time. It's like an OPK - they begin to rise just before O. If it's negative, he may decide to do tests, or start you on treatment like Clomid, if he does he's likely to get another day 21 test to see what is happening

Good luck sweetie

At 4DPO, your hormone levels are likely to be higher than they would be at 7, actually (assuming you're Oing, that is!). They like to see a number over a 10 for a 100% +O result, however anything above 5 is probably a +. The best way for these tests to be done is to test within the first couple days of your cycle to see what your normal progesterone level is (as it obviously varies from woman to woman), that way they have your baseline and can go from there, but they rarely seem to do that one.

have a look at this
