Sperm sample results

Sperm sample results

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Please can you give me some advise. Hubby had his results back today they are as follows:
Semen sample volume 2ml
total count 140 million
sperm motility 15%
sperm progression 2-3
normal forms 15%
sperm clumping not seen

Doc said these are fine but surely if its only 15% that must be low???? Please help im so confused and would appreciate any advise thanks

Hi!
normal forms 15% is not low at all and many doctors don't pay much attention to it since there are different criteria to judge morphology and there is a difference of opinion on its importance. The motility is a little low at 15% but the count is excellent. Thats why the doctor is not worried. So if you multiply 15% with 140million then the total motile sperms is 21 million which is good. If the sperm count was low as well then there might have been an issue.

hi, your hubbys SA looks good, he has a good count and the sperm motility it's a little low but still 15% is enough to get you preg with a good count.
the normal forms part is really good aswell, it says on my OH's SA that:

"At less than 15% normal forms the fertilisation rate in vitro decreases."

My OH's 2nd recent results were:

count: 87,000,000
motility: rapid 22% and sluggish 9%, so 31% put together
and 3% normal forms

1st sa was:

Count: 29,000,000
motility: rapid 4% sluggish 14% so 18% out together
and 5% normal forms

he took vitamins after his 1st sa and you can see how much of a good diff there is between the 1st and 2nd, and i've got preg twice so i wouldn't worry about your OH's test coz it really is a good SA.. and the motility you can improve with vitamins.. my OH was taking Serlium with Zinc.

That is a fantastic result.... definitely nothing to worry about there.

Normal total count is 20million per ml

So with 2ml produced to give you 140million that is your DH has 70 million per ml so a lot higher than what they class as normal.

I understand that the doctors look for 15% normal morpholgy which is what your DH has but he has a much higher number of sperm produced than the normal that they look for makin your DHs result really good in my opinion.

Hubbys 2nd sperm results were
sperm sample volume 3ml
sperm count total 24 milliom
Sperm motility 30%
sperm progression 50% 3 50% 2
10% appear normal

This doesn't seem as good as the first result and I dont know why please any advise would be great. We are being referred now to an uroligist asap
