Hi all
Not sure if i "qualify" to post in here. I'm on my 8th cycle of ttc and i definately have a short luteal phase, never managed more than 8 days and that has been a one off i average 5-6days. I've been taking B6 which im not sure is doing anything and i think i definately need something else like progesterone or something. I was just wondering when any of you gals went to the GP about problems ttc?? I went after 5 months but she fobbed me off that id not been ttc long enough and that charting wasn't reliable so this month im gonna go armed with three cycles of info, where i've ovulated on cd26 each time and come on between cd31-34 and info from my cbfm that backs that up.
No harm in going back with your charts and saying what youare concerned about. The gp told my friend that trying to conceive for over a year was not unusual, even though i'm sure it must feel like ages. Good luck

Hi! I know, it's so frustrating especially when the Drs just seem to dismiss you but I think they expect you to have been trying for a year before they discuss it with you. I have late ovulation too and I have got pregnant a few times so there is hope! I think they should at least take note of your late ovulation, but be prepared to be told to come back again in 6 months.
Due to unknown blocked fallopian tube that flooded the uterus I mc now waiting for op that will hopefully sort that out and then all engines go go!

I'm going to sound reeeally ignorant, but before I was on this forum I'd never even heard of the luteal phase. The hospital charted my ovulation and never mentioned it, does that seem weird? Now I'm going to have to figure it out. Not charting at the mo until my op is over.

Hi there, I think wether or not yr doc tessts u depends on a few factors like age, the amount of time you have been trying and an understanding doc. When I went to the doc she said that I hadn't been trying for long enough then when I said my age which at the time was 34 she said go away and try for another 3 months, if nothing has happened then come and see me again. Which we did and she then referd me to clinic at my local hospital.

I've got an appt for the 29th Apr. Going armed with three charts which'll show that i've ovulated on cd26 with a 5-8day luteal phase. I hoping that actual physical evidence with spur her on to do some sort of tests etc. My cbfm also confirms that i ovulate too late as well so im really hoping that she listens. Im 27 though so i dunno if that'll affect her not referring me or anything.
