Help with FET please

I underwent IVF/ICSI in Jan which resulted in a BFP for me only to MC a week later.

I have 7 frozen blasto's. I called the clinic yesterday to inform them of my MC and to book a consultation regarding the nest step. I was unable to get an appointment until March 1st, which is just so far away. I was hoping to get an appointment in the next few weeks to discuss this cycle and what the next step should be.

So, can people tell me about their experiences with having FET. How soon after a fresh IVF cycle did you have FET? What drugs were you given? Or did you have a natural cylce with no drugs? Has anyone been sucessful with FET?

I really need some info to keep me going until the March appointment and any experiences would really help.

Hi Caline

I think i mentioed in another post that my sister got bfp twice with FET. the 1st time the docs advised her to wait for at least one cycle , she said she wanted to try straight away the following month. She got her bfp.
Same thing happened the 3rd cycle and she got bfp
I dont know what meds she was on,

I understand you have to wait at least 1 cycle but i could be wrong. Go with how you feel. If my sis listened to the docs she may not have got her kids now.Thats not to say they are wring but more go with your gut feeling on what you should do.

Thanks Muncho. Do you know if you sisters FET's were medicated or natural? So she didn't have to wait for 3 bleeds? I have been told 3 bleeds, so this months bleed (MC), next months, then I can book in on the 3rd bleed, meaning no FET until April!!! Thats just too long to wait for me. I want to get moving with things. Also it seems to be the way that a lot of people conceive after a MC, so if I was to have FET next month.....

Just very frustrated at the moment

they were natural FET. she was supposed to wait a few months and that is the norm but she insisted on doing it straight away!

I can understad your frustration, time is of essesence when going thru IVF, but i guess you have to listen to what the clinic says and then see how you feel ..

Hi really sorry about you loss.
I got a BFN in Sep with my IVF and had to wait for one natural period before I could have FET. I had a natural cycle, I phoned CARE on day one and then went for a scan on day 10. Once I ovulated they put the 2 2day embroys 2 days later. Then I started taking the pessaries- and will stop on Saturday when I am 12 weeks.
Everything was better about this cycle, your body has ALOT less to deal with.

hi

i had a natural FET in september i had to wait 3 cycle after my IVF before i could have my FET. i do believe this is the norm so you body gets bk to normal after all the drugs youve taken (thats what the doc told me) i did try to see if they would let me have it earlier but there was no chance of that 3 months was minimum at my hospital. i did get pregnant but miscarried at 5+1

I don't really know anything about FET, but I was reading this and thought I'd just add that my clinic asks everyone (IVF and FET) to take only one month off between cycles.
