Seen Consultant - Given Clomid

Today i saw the consultant and she has given me Clomid to take along side Metformin.

I can see so many people are on it or have been on it and i just wondered what kind of Experiences you have had.
She ran throu a few side effects.

I'm on day 28 at the moment so she has advised i wait for AF to arrive naturally.

Hi Carlyanne15,

I was on Clomid last year for 2 months and found it absolutely fine. I took mine on days 2 - 6 (100mg) followed by a trigger shot on day 14. I had little or no side effects and fell PG on the second cycle. However I miscarried in January. I will be going back on it shortly and have great faith in it. I have been told if Clomid is going to work for you it will work in the first 3 cycles. Having said that though it can take up to 6 cycles for it to work.

Good luck!

Hi carlyanne

Just wanted to let you know, that I took clomid this cycle for the first time. I took it CD2-5 (50mg) and am a couple days from testing time. I'm not convinced it has worked this time, as apart from a splitting headache I've not had any other symptoms.

I didn't have any real side effects. Slight shooting pains either side before ovulation, and bad cramps around ovulation (which isn't normal). I'm not sure if this was down to the clomid or not. If it happens again next cycle, I'll be pretty sure it is down to the clomid.

Good luck with your next cycle.

xx

Hello Carlyanne, I startes clomid last month I took 50 mg cd 3 through 7 and I took it at night around 7 the side affects I had were about 45 after taking it I got very lightheaded and dizzy, it didn't last that long thought and I aslo had very bad headaches for about 3 days, and cramping around O time. I only have one tube and went in on cd 12 to have a scan to see how the clomid worked it did what it was to do it made me O but it was not good to me for it was on the right side that tube is blocked, so now I am waiting for af to show and will go another round of clomid and pray that I will O from my left side this time. I wish you all the luck hon and here is some

Hi Carlyanne15,

As miel mentioned I got pregnant with Clomid.
I haven't updated the signature so ignore it hahah

Anyway, I already used to ovulate. But sadly had 2 miscarriages. Doctor's goal was to improve the quality of the follicles/eggs.

He prescribed me to take Clomid from CD3-7 dosage of 100mg. I was surprised to see that he gave me that much, but then thought.. he is the doc!

So on CD12 he called me in for ultrasound to check on the follicles. I had 6 mature ones (Don't remember the sizes) then on CD13 I had the hCG trigger shot which what it does is rupture the mature follicles and the eggs are released for fertilization. The percentage of conceiving multiples is 20% as I read everywhere and this includes twins and triplets.. OMG I would die if I have triplets! twins is ok

My advice is that let ur doc monitor you. Ask him if he is going to call you in to check your follicles. It's an essential step to do, so I hope he does it. About the trigger shot, I dont know as many ladies dont do it and got pregnant but the having it increased the chances a lot!

Please feel free to PM if you need anything else

Ohh and forgot to mention that I never took Metformin so I dont know how is it.

GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!!!
